Blackjack, wow! You might be as old as I am.

I had a Sprint PPC 6700 and then an AT&T Tilt, as far as “smart” phones went, before switching to Apple for the 5 and beyond. I remember thinking the Blackjack was really cool for a time, though.

1st gen
3GS
4 (in black)
5 (in silver/white)
6 (in space gray, which I regretted)
SE (in silver again)
7 (in gold)
XS (back to silver)
12 (in white) I struggled with the color decision on this one, but I know that regardless of which color I got, I would still wish I had gotten one of the other colors. But I haven't regretted the decision of going with the regular 12 instead of the Pro.
I love the white color on 12 and 12 mini.

I had the PPC 6700 on Verizon before I switched to AT&T to get the first iPhone.
The 6700 is the phone I mentioned would go into power save mode by turning off the cellular but you didn't know and would miss the 2nd half of the day's calls and texts, even after recharging.
Did you have this issue?
I did love the slide keyboard and could even do it one handed!

Didn’t notice that, but the end stage of each charge’s life wasn’t very long. It was dead before you thought to check. PPC and Tilt were second phones to me; couldn’t depend on them. My main line was on a T-Mobile Razr.

Also funny: I switched to the Tilt on AT&T, expressly to be there already whenever I finally switched to iPhone.

31 lol I think I was 16 when I got the blackjack and I still have it!
Lol, ok; not nearly as old as I am. You must be a tech master by now, having started so early.

Can you tell us more about that return phase? Why? I’m curious.
I returned the 11 mainly because of the Face ID , also the 6s plus felt better in my hand.
I did like the camera on the 11 though . Now I'm hoping the 13 will come with Touch ID

4, 4S, 5, 5S, 6, 6 plus, 6S plus, 7, 7 plus, X, XS, XS max, 11, 11 pro, 11 pro max, SE 2, 12 mini, 12, 12 pro, 12 pro max.

Admittedly I'm the person that goes back and forth between sizes before settling on one--especially of late. Have tried the 12 mini, 12, 12 pro and 12 pro max. Settled on Max due to best battery and having gotten rid of my iPad. I desire to get off the annual upgrade train though. This could be the year for me depending on how much better the battery is on the 12S/13 series. I admire those that keep their phones for multiple years/until they're unusable and resist the temptation of marginal upgrades lol

Since I care about my environment (and money), while enjoying bigger jumps in new features, here is my history:

2011 - iPhone 4
2014 - iPhone 5S
2018 - iPhone 7
2021 - iPhone 12 Mini

Those are also the phones I regard as great releases of their time, missing the XR. My current one is from the company for free, but I had planned to get a 12 / Mini anyway and I am fine with the size and even battery.
