So much for my lack of faith in FedEx, my tracking now indicates that my MacBook has now been delivered! :)

Yeah, FedEx has occasional weird lag in their reporting. Mine didn't say it was on the truck until I saw the truck pull up for the delivery.

This thing is very, very sexy. I know, I know, it's a Friday night and I'm talking about my new Mac being sexy, but seriously it is. I had an original (i.e. ancient) TiPB 400MHz and then last year got a Gateway P4. In comparison, this thing is glorious. The Gateway got about an hour and fifteen minutes on its battery. My Macbook is showing just over 3 hours on a full charge (haven't calibrated yet). I love the keyboard too. This is a major improvement since my last Mac laptop. Camino is very snappy, I recommend it to all Firefox lovers looking for a Universal Binary.

It's just so pretty :)

Getting VERY frustrated...

Hi guys...

I ordered a 2 GHz machine on 1/17. My order ship date has been delayed 3 times now. I'm beginning to think this is just some mean joke...

I called Apple, and the lady told me that they were shipped first come, first serve. But, I feel like I've read forums of people who have ordered after that date and either have theirs, or have a tracking number.

Any thoughts?

I ordered mine on 2/7. It's a 2.0 with 100 7200RPM HD. The only thing in your configuration that might delay this is the larger HD. I would call back and press Apple on this. Perhaps they can explain if a particular part is causing the delay. If they can't, ask to speak to a supervisor or manager or someone who has some power. Apple is good at trying to keep their customers happy, and if they've made a mistake like screwing up an order, they usually compensate you with something like faster shipping (they helped me with this after a product was out of stock but not listed that way on their site) or perhaps a gift card to the Apple Store (I've heard the latter, never experienced it myself).

I started a new thread but I'm thinking I should have just posted here. Anyway, the MacBook Pro now ships in 2-3 weeks from Apple Store.

How come my 2/21 order still shows 3-4 weeks? :(

Super excited!!!:) :) :)

thanks!

I had an estimated ship date of March 3, arrival on March 8 (the weekend will screw up 2-Day shipping). The actual ship date was March 1, 11:24 (local China time), and it arrived March 3, 8:34AM in a suburb of Chicago.

My MacBook 2.0 Ghz with 7200 RPM HD was ordered on 2/5/06

It had an estimated ship date of March 3rd after the speed bumps

It ended up shipping out on February 28th Local Time Shanghai

It arrived via FedEx 2-Day shipping on March 3rd Local Time New York City

Originally FedEx gave me a delivery date of March 6th but got it to me on Friday before the weekend

Pls excuse the nooob question.. but what does 7200rpm mean? Is this just another way of saying 2.0ghz?

I keep thinking of cars when ppl use this term!

7200rpm is the speed of the hard drive

I called and pressed the Apple Sales rep today. He couldn't give me an exact reason why it hadn't shipped and others that had ordered after me already had theirs. He did say that it will ship this week, and that I will be getting a free upgrade to 2nd Day Air. So, I'm happy about that. I should have it by Friday. :D

Thanks!

I really hope that you get your machine, but I wouldn't hold my breath.. Apple CSR's tend to tell little fibs... Good luck though.

If it means anything, my order status page on Apple's website is now updated to say the shipping is 2nd Day air... I sure hope so. I'm so anxious.
