This is unusual, my CC hasn't been charged yet after the initial auth charge, but my MB Pro ordered at the end of Jan just shipped :)

To be honest, I think the shipping service is dreadfull. Not only have we had to wait months from ordering, but to the UK it's about 7-10 days delivery. I've ordered things from China before that have arrived in 48 hours. Apple should be getting there items out asap to the customer. I know shipping was free but i'm pretty sure 100% of people would pay the extra to get there laptop in 48 hours.

(i think you US guys had that option)

Well the TNT website for track and trace is just slow. i rang them to find out where it is and it's in Northampton UK and will be delivered tomorrow. Woop.

1.83 UK arrived. Lots of finger marks on the screen though. not sure if its just the coldness of being on the delivery van that's shown them up :/

Looks great tho :D

Congrats! Mine finally hit Amsterdam (wohoo!) and should be on its way to another distribution centre here in Copenhagen. Maybe tomorrow..
What's with the finger prints? Delivery man cuddles?

Glad they are finally arriving. Beginning to think I'll never see mine :(

The screens great, i think it's probably just the cold air that brought out the marks. Room temp its perfec :D

Coming from a dual G5 2.0 i HAVE to get some more memory for this thing, 512 is no way enough.

How exactly do you get to the memory slots ??

hi all. i been around mac sites and forums for a while now. and i've been using macs for about 2 years now, i've just never had one for myself. always used macs from school and work.

just ordered a macbook pro 2ghz core duo with the 100gb (7200rpm) hdd. school starts the very first monday of april so i hope i can get this before then. i want some time to play with it too!

is there anyone who has placed an order this week? i'd like to know when they'll ship as i have read that some people ordered in mid february and have already received them.

I ordered on 1/28, it shipped on the 2/27, and I got it this morning with free Ground shipping to the US (2 days, very pleased), I actually got it one day before the first est. delivered by date I had when I ordered :)

Initial impressions are that it is as Jobs would say, a screamer. I bought the 2.0 w/7200 RPM drive and just added 2 GB of RAM I bought elsewhere. Compared to my previous 1.5 15" PB it flys. Even after using my desktop which is a pretty fast PC, I'm impressed with this. Haven't installed or tried anything like Photoshop under Rosetta, so am not sure about that, but all iLife apps fly :)

Camera is a bit grainy, but given the small sensor, the noise is acceptable. Thus far I'm happy.

I ordered the 2.0 with 7200 RPM drive a couple of weeks ago and I am still wating for shipment. Even worse is that quite a few people that had 2.0's scheduled to ship yesterday got pushed back to the 8th today... So, don't hold your breath for pre-april delivery... :-/

I 'tried' Photoshop CS2 under rosetta with the stock 512 ram...not what I'd call even useable, after loading for 5 mins even drawing a quick black line with the brush tool would cause it to lag and then the line appear. I have 2gb ram turning up today which should help things along. iStat nano is constantly saying 0mb free when any powermac app is running

Ordered a 2.0 Ghz model with 7200 RPM HD on 2/5

It shipped out yesterday but Apple claims it won't be in my hands until Monday which seems insane considering I paid for 2 day shipping...

Should I demand a refund of shipping cost?

It will run a lot better if you boost the ram in your machine. Rosetta sucks up memory like nothing else. Many users report decent speeds for CS2 with a fair bit of ram in their machines.

Note that that is 3/1 local China time. My poor little Macbook has been off the radar screen for over 36 hours. Apple says 2-Day is two business days, OK, fine. But my expected arrival date is still more than 2 business days. Very disappointing.

When did you order out of curiosity, and what config?

Mine has arrived, and I am still waiting... go figure.

The local Apple store did an engineering capture on mine last Thursday, the day after I got it because of a fan grinding against something and making a lot of noise when under CPU load. They had just gotten 2 stock 2.0s (like mine was) that day, but were already reserved. Not a single 2.0 has arrived since then. They have gotten /8/ 1.83s to display, but /0/ 2.0s. Geeeeez.

Ordered on 2/7. It's the 2.0 model with 7200RPM HD, other than that, everything is stock.
Oooo...that's good news I think. I ordered the same config just a couple of days later. Hopefully mine will ship out soon!

As an update to a previous post. FedEx is saying my shipment is being held in Chinese customs. They don't know why but they believe it will still be delivered on Monday. They told me to look for an update in the morning, by which it should have left the country.

Dttyszka, my MacBook must be on the same plane as yours!

I have exactly the same tracking status which has been driving me crazy as my MacBook was sitting in Shanghai for over 24 hours.

After a day of reloading the FedEx status, my MacBook has apparently left Anchorage, AK which is great news.

I thought someone said that Apple's 2-day shipping meant that they would do Saturday delivery but I guess not. I guess I'll be waiting until Monday :(

Here's my order status which probably mirrors yours:

Haha, good point. I was hoping to just waste my weekend but it looks like the both of us will be losing some sleep playing with our new Macs next week :D

But, if I am going to be wasting time with something there's nothing better than a new Mac! :)

Macreator,
Check your FedEx page... mine's on a truck for delivery this morning. I guess I can't really complain if that package made it from Anchorage to Indianapolis to Chicago in under 24 hours. Niiiice. Now I have an awesome way to waste my weekend.

Wow, that was pretty impressive. Mine made it to my local Manhattan sort facility but it isn't on a truck for delivery unfortunately which worries me considering it is already almost 11AM.

I think the extra step my MacBook had to go through to get from Newark to New York City may have lost me my shot at delivery today but I am still hopeful :)

Congratulations dttyszka! It sounds like you'll be getting your MacBook shortly! Have fun! :) Hopefully I'll be in the same boat shortly!

Attached is my tracking status:
