MY 1.67/NOW 1.83 HAS SHIPPED! YESSSS!
SHIPPED OUT 3:35 P.M. TODAY IN CHINA! YEAAAAAAAAAAA!

Should have it in my hands by Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Anyone know if this FedEx IP Direct Distro service delivers in the US on Saturday? I ordered a 1.67 stock 5 minutes after the store opened, however, I changed my order on the around 3:00 p.m. Jan 12th because I wanted a 100 GB 5400 RPM HDD. Hope this brings hope to all of you 1.83 people, it's coming!

Our 1.83's should be on the same plane...no idea whether they ship on Saturday (not relevant for me as mine is a business address). You should be able to find this out on the Fedex website though.

It looks like my debit card was just deducted. I was just wondering how long after the withdrawals did Apple ship your orders? Thanks.

It looks like I /will/ be driven half-insane by the shipping. Here is what FedEx has had to say for today:

6:47 AM At local FedEx facility
5:48 AM At dest sort facility
1:00 AM At dest sort facility
1:00 AM At local FedEx facility

Uh-huh... okay... thanks... uhm... does this mean it is being delivered or not, FedEx? Thanks for repeating the same thing 4 times for me... great work. ;)

I'm getting pretty anxious now myself... my status has said 'Left Origin' from Shanghai for over 24 hours now with no additional update. Maybe the plane crashed or something...

My stock 1.83 has shipped, I ordered about 10 minutes after keynote.
Just spreading the word.

It has arrived... but it feels like ice, so I am gonna have to let it warm up a bit first... maybe set it on my XBox 360 to warm it up. ;)

Same here. Although I'd consider a delay in the Fedex tracking status updating more likely than a plane crash.

wow, my package left shanghai more than 18 hours ago and there are no updates on the tracking status. Could it be that they go directly to the main Fedex facility instead of to Alaska first?

Well, mine has shipped and is in the Air somewhere over the US...I want it so bad.

Funny how it took almost 40 hours to get across the Pacific. It is now at my local sorting facility but neither FedEx or Apple will let me get it. It could have gotten here yesterday but they didnt get the damn thing on a plane fast enough. I called apple and they refunded my shipping charge.

40 hours? pffft, try waiting a week. It seems to have been sitting in Shanghai for 3 days so far. What are they doing, walking it over?

I was wondering the same thing. Mine's been there since the 22nd. Looks like it's going to take up to 2 weeks to get mine delivered to denmark according to a dude at Apple.

Are they shipping it via TNT? If so, I'm so sorry, I've heard they are absolutely horrible. We don't really have them here in the states (although they have a US website with a pickup request yet NO locations), but I'd say the closest relative to them would be whenever I've had DHL's @Home service. Basically, DHL picks up the package, sits on it for WAAAY too long, then forwards it to your local postal service to sit around longer. Then finally (I guess when USPS discovers THEY have to deliver it), it arrives.

And btw, mine sat in Shanghai for a good 2 days. It all depends when flights are going out, and I guess none went out this weekend. Plus if it hits US soil in Anchorage it HAS to pass through customs, which isn't open on weekends. Call FedEx and ask them where it is. Like mine, perhaps yours DID leave China, it's just sitting in Anchorage waiting to clear customs.

I hope some 2.0 MBP are on those planes... im number 8 in line for mine and am getting kinda annoyed that the store hasnt gotten em yet.... I can imagine how all yall feel to. :( Its the MBP depression stage  lol

TNT is absolutely great in Europe (duh, they're german) and Asia. In my parents experience, they live in Shanghai / Taipei and they ship packages with their company (which is in Germany / France / UK) and they have a much better deal with TNT and DHL than with Fedex / UPS. The reason is because Fedex and UPS are US-centric so everything goes through some sorting facility in the US.

I do know for a fact that when my parents mail me stuff via TNT, at least in California, it's pretty fast. The freight forwarder in California is "California Overnight" (http://www.calover.com), which has a good level of service.

Actually, come to think of it, isn't DHL now part of Deutsche Post?
