And for three weeks, they were just observing it? ^.-
Well, for one week they were mostly out as it was a holiday week. And the rest of the time, yes, they were seeing how the beta is performing and if there is anything worthy of holding up the release or not. Fairly typical of how these types of processes work in the software world.

I see what you're saying but beta builds expire after a set number of weeks, right? Does that not apply this time because it has the same build number as the public release therefore won't expire like other betas?
Expirations haven't really been around as much for a little while now it would seem.

9.2 is out and so is Three's VoLTE with it. So much for their carrier update being absolutely no indicator for an iOS update. *laughs*

What indicator?
A few weeks ago they said they hoped to have it out by mid-December and I said that this may have indicated a likely 9.2 release time frame. (Yes let's not get into the fact it wasn't a certainty, and yes I know carrier updates can be released independently of iOS updates, I just said it indicated a likelihood for me). Turned out to be right. Their update has released with 9.2.

(At one point in September they said it would be out 21st October. They missed this date but 9.1 was released that day. If I had paid more attention at the time I could have made a similar prediction)

Hey everyone..After updating to 9.2 on my iPad air2 I seem to have more issues with blank screens than I had on 9.1. The blank screens I refer to are when double clicking on the home button to look at what pages were open. This along with several blank pictures when using Safari. Before updating today it wasn't uncommon to see the setting page blank when double clicking Home, but nothing more.
Has anyone else seen this since updating to 9.2 ?

Can someone move my Post to the appropriate topic? I'm sorry it ended up in the wrong location :-(

My guess is that next week is beta 1 for 9.3. We won't have to worry about the expiration.

I got a carrier settings update without getting an iOS update as I've been running the beta, and my build number is the same as the 9.2 general release today... So you see carrier updates are not dependent on iOS updates...

Haha you're winning me up aren't you? None of what you said is in contradiction to what I've stated. How come you didn't reply to my earlier posts?

Are you all happy now? Can we move on with our lives?

I still want to complain about the ridiculously slow download speed through iTunes though!! Lol

This will take until next week at this speed.

My connection seems fine.

I must of got a dud of an Apple server.

When do you think this new update will come out? because I'm contemplating about whether it's better to wait or update my phone to ios9.1 now. These updates usually take a long time and I don't want to do it twice if I know ios9.2 is coming in two weeks or less.
Yes today.
And realistically that's basically /thread

Hogwash that beta 4 was out for 3 weeks and there are still issues and yet they made beta 4 the public release.
They will have a jailbreak to patch in the next coming weeks, why would they waste all these bug fixes? :p they wanna burn up exploits and save 9.2.1 for the day after the JB

Try changing DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4. It may solve the problem.

No change. El Capitan update is just as slow.

Any idea how big iOS is? I want to reboot my Mac but I've already downloaded a gb of the update. If its close I'll just wait it out.

Thanks for the help though.

I actually got a speedy server.

I made the mistake of rebooting thinking that it might connect to a faster server or something. Still get <100kbs download speeds.

I could just do the OTA update but I typically like to a get a fresh copy of iOS, not that it matters probably.

Unfortunately I need to use my iPad and iPhone for work in about an hour so frustratingly I'll try updating on a different day. Hopefully whatever is the issue is cleared up.

Apple must have sensed my frustration with iOS 9.1 and El Cap 10.11.1 and put me on a "last laugh" list.

This is a similar issue I was having about a month ago. Turned out to be a Time Warner cable / Apple server issue. Apple updated their server and Time Warner was having issues connecting to it. Took about 10 days but they finally fixed it. Are you able to update iOS apps okay? I was able to figure out there was an issue by apps updating over cell without a problem, but when connected to wifi, issue was present.

Yep, I updated all my apps prior to trying the update and they seemed speedy as usual.

It's not a big deal I can be patient. I'm on a conference call and some of my co workers local to me are also having an issue. Might be Apple, might be Comcast. Hard to tell. I imagine Apple releasing updates for OS X, iOS, and tvOS all at the same time is a massive hit on ISP servers.

I had a carrier update today..if i'm understanding what you're saying.
