I miss jailbreaking, but a lot of the tweaks I used were not being updated, so I had no choice, as I were upgrading my iPhones and couldn’t jailbreak the new iPhones. I do miss customizing my iPhones and iPads.
I miss what it was, particularly the 2011 to 2013 era. But shortly after the release of iOS 9.1 came the era of the semi-untethered jailbreak and all its hassles. So, I just chose to stay where I was on the device I had jailbroken on 9.0.1. That lasted five years until things became so broken it was just better to update the device.

With some of my other devices I've messed around with newer jailbreaks, but again I don't wish to deal with the hassle of semi-untethered. On top of that a lot of new JB devs are simply recreating what's been lost or broken and often in an inferior form. I just walked away.

There was a time where I claimed that those who left were settling for what Apple had to offer and I'm sure some are thinking that about me. But in my mind, it's jailbreaking that abandoned me and not the other way around. I deal with what Apple has to offer because I am unwilling to settle for the kinds of current jailbreaks that now exist. The kicker is that someone could release a fully-untethered jailbreak if they wanted. Exploits have been hoarded. But a JB reveals them and I guess hoarding an exploit is more important than making a fully untethered jailbreak. IDK. It doesn't matter because things are the way they are now.

But, if in the future a fully untethered JB is again released, I'm there.

I totally understand the frustration with the semi-untethered jailbreaks. I didn’t have the time anymore to keep up with the jailbreak community as well. My 12PM stayed jailbroken for 2 years on the iOS version it was released on, and would’ve stayed jailbroken, if I didn’t need to update the software to update an app, to use fertility equipment with that particular phone. That is a part of an era that I miss and would like to visit even for one day.

I just installed PB yesterday and so far it runs 99% issue free. All my apps work, and battery life hasn't seem to be affected.

The only issue I've experienced, is the known "Screen Time" issue, which tapping on it in settings freezes the settings app, and you have to close settings and open again.
