There's a paid mode??

BTW, I would recommend ProTube. It supports PIP on iPad Air (not sure about split screen mode coz I only have Air 1) and 3D Touch on iPhone 6S & 6S+.

Yep. If you purchase youtube music I think you get background playback on videos. And youtube recently launched a subscription to remove adds.

YouTube Red is just outstanding! My experience has been flawless.

The new updated Google Play Music Unlimited is also fun, has a great UI and a terrific library of music.

I'm so happy that Google provides these for us. It's a shame Apple struggles to "get it".

Good to hear. Would you recommend it for someone that watches on average 1-2 videos per day on youtube?

Excellent question.

If it's in your budget yes!
There's more functionality that just ad removal. Also if time is important to you, the new program is very fast. In my case we do you tube training videos which I author, so it's a massive time saver.

I also enjoy it immensely for personal use. Google is very good at being Pro-Customer, creating real fun and value.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will purchase it as it seems like it offers some pretty good value. Yes Google is really trying to up its brand image.

Is this YouTube Red a different experience for the basic YouTube app? Is it a completely different app? Has the whole UI changed compared its current UI?

To be honest, this whole premium experience should be called Google+

- 1TB Drive storage (for Gmail, Drive & Photos)
- Ad-free Youtube (aka. Red)
- Google Play Music
- Google Voice international calls
- $5 Play Store credit per month

and it comes free with Google Fiber subscription.

The ultimate google bundle. And with google pricing it would be around $100 a month. That's the best Tech service.

Was that sarcastic? I always thought Google products had generous pricing.

Not YT Red though, free vs $9.99, I'm sticking with AdBlock.

I never understood the idea of calling it google+ or even why they felt the need to make their own social network that brought no new features.

There was pressure at that time, the tech industry was throwing in as much products as possible.
The more sub-domains the better, everyone (except Apple, we just started with the whole 'plus' thing)
followed and they slowly merged into bigger products.

I think it's good for schools and communities though, like Xing.
You really need a social network for personal life and one completely outside of it.

It's called YouTube Red.
US only so that's no use to me yet - there really is no reason for it to be US exclusive. We already have Google Play Music here in UK :(

Does it enable PIP mode and/or spit screen view in iOS9?
