It's more like location doesn't matter for this. You'll find people in towns where it supposedly works for whom it doesn't work.

I don't think region matters. Anyone who is NOT ON A FAMILY PLAN have MMS working?

No here in Central FL. Hacked carrier file and iphone text plan.

Anyone have any idea what MMS is going to cost once ATT magnanimously turns it on? I know there's no way they're going to let me keep my $4/200 text message plan and just let me send MMS. We all know that those electrons they're sending out over that highly sophisticated MMS network are really expensive for them so they'll have no choice but to pass the cost to the consumer... but really, has there been mention?

Yes, but I changed my iPhone 200 text plan to a regular 200 text plan using the sim swap method a few months back. A family plan is not necessary for mms to work, but I believe a non-iPhone specific text plan will enable it.

Edit: MMS functional in Fairfax, VA

Location doesn't matter. If you have a family or regular text plan, it should be working now. If you have an iPhone text plan, you'll have to wait till the 25th.

Hmmm, I have a family plan with 3 iPhones on it and none have MMS working. I don't even have the option on my phone to pick 'Send with MMS'. I did have it on 3.0 but I never tried it. I have carrier update 5.0. Is there an update when you sync with iTunes? (which I haven't done in a few days).

Morrison Colorado here. I'm running 3.0.1 and decided, after reading mms is working for others, put the AT&T carrier file that I dl before to try and get the hack to work and it now works. Can send and receive.

MMS counts as a text in text plans for other phones, plus there has been a link posted, somewhere here, that it will be the same for the iPhone.

Not working here in Louisville, Ky. Tried everything everyone is saying to do. Only thing I can think of is that I have a iPhone texting plan.

Business Plan w/5.0 carrier MMS working

I don't think region matters. Anyone who is NOT ON A FAMILY PLAN have MMS working?

I have a NBI Business Pooled Nation plan with Messaging Unlimited.
I added the 5.0 custom carrier file (on a 3.01 JB phone) and MMS and VMM are working fine.

I tried adding the same file to my wife's phone (3.01 NOT JB) and MMS shows up but the send fails.

This is in STL,MO.

Good luck,
Token

Columbus....sweet! No, I am running the carrier file 5.0 from months ago. My wife and I had MMS working a long time ago when people were going crazy with the settings, hunting files and swapping sims. It stopped working and I got tired of hunting answers, so I decided to wait until the 25th. Two days ago I was in a diff forum and the thread was "get MMS now, before the 25th". The guy had a process to try. I did it and BOOM it sent. I sent a text to my wife on what to do and hers worked, too. We did not update any carrier files or anything. Oh, we are both running 3.0.1...I have 3GS and she has a 3G.

And that process was...?

It is working for me in Ann Arbor, MI (and Dearborn).

It is not working for my son in Ann Arbor, MI.

I used Krillr's tutorial of downloading the ipcc file and also adding the server, username and password to the settings.

It seems like almost everyone who now has MMS working has modified their iPhone in some way. Either via jailbreaking or manually updating the carrier file.

Does anyone who has NOT modified or manually made changes to their iPhone have MMS working?

State, city would be nice. Just wondering how many places have non-hacked MMS (like all the people that got the carrier update by plugging in their iPhones to iTunes).

I don't understand how ANYone can be using this feature bc when I'm in a Pic there is only an option to E-mail (and something else), but no option to send as MMS.
