Ok people seriously, it is obviously working in many places with the hack, we already know that! What we do not know is whether or not it is actually working without the hack, naturally, randomly, not manually.

I would appreciate if people would stop posting "Idiotville, MR. carrier file 5.1 with krill's process" because quite frankly this thread does not care. Thanks.

Location doesn't matter. If you have a family or regular text plan, it should be working now. If you have an iPhone text plan, you'll have to wait till the 25th.

This is not true because I have a family plan and know people with the regular text plans and it is NOT working now.

SORRY =(

Since most iphones cannot yet receive MMS...why does any of this really matter?

Spartanburg, South Carolina. iPhone 3G running 3.1, with carrier
file 5.1..... Works flawlessly even when connected to wifi.

Well, with all due respect, I seriously doubt it's going to start magically working for anybody. It's obvious it's going to take a carrier update, and that is something that people would notice.

Anybody with the ability to do something as easy as create an account to post on MacRumors can follow Krillr's guide to install the hacked carrier. It's so easy it's ridiculous.

Guaranteed all the hype about AT&T activating early came from people that had jailbroken or had a hacked file to begin with and kept trying every day until one day it "magically" started working.

I've had the hacked carrier file for the last week and MMS did not work for me until just tonight.

This was more on at&t's end than anything I did. The fact you install a new carrier file means nothing as to whether or not your MMS will work. at&t has to get to you.

Some people seem to believe they just need to install the carrier file and it'll work. That's not the case.

Give it time. It'll be there in the next 8 days.

ok mms is working for me tonight. 3.1 iphone 3g i'm in north jersey. it works on wifi and 3g, voice memos send too. :D also i am on an iphone unlimited text plan not family messaging plan so maybe they are removing the opt outs from those now too.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7C144 Safari/528.16)

Wow. The brain dead are out in full force in this thread.

Out of curiosity

This is for people that do have MMS working, AND those that don't, like me.

Send an e-mail to (your number)@mms.att.net

I get an immediate response that my MMS is restricted. May be the quick and easy way to tell if ATT has removed the opt-out code yet.

I don't like you AND I don't have MMS working ;) Haha. Just kidding.

Good idea though. I know mine isn't working, I don't even have the little camera icon.

I just tried and got:

Wow. I came into to this thread since it is about a question I would love to have an answer for. Mainly, does anyone have MMS without ANY modifications...well after 4 pages of posts... I still have no god damn idea if anyone has it working without ANY modifications.

Thanks for screwing up a thread with alot of potential... sometimes people can be so friggin clueless.

:D Same thing I was trying to get at. :D Don't get your hopes up nobody reads this far down before they respond. Haha

We're down to 7 days until MMS and my theory is that if it "magically works" for me... then I'd know. If not, reading this thread isn't going to help. Can't wait to burn up my 200 message limit! Haha

If you actually read a few things, you would know that until AT&T turn on certain flags for an account, it won't work without a hack (sometimes even with the hack), even if your location is supported.

location: RANDOM
account MMS support: RANDOM

Why?
Staggered activation of MMS service at random to see if there are any problems.

Ft. Lauderdale - Sometimes. Every 4 or 5 goes through. Krillr method. If this is any indication of how next fri is going to be, I hope no one needs their phone on the 25th.

EDIT: works every time on 3G, if on WiFi - NO GO. Anyone have idea why that is?

South Texas is on. Woke up this morning and MMS works without a hitch. Friend of mine 30 minutes West confirmed this. Does anyone know the size limit before the pics get resized?

EDIT: Used one of the random IPCC files on this thread. It wasn't the file that allowed me to send MMS, I'm almost positive that our area was activated sometime in the early morning.
