iPad mini Where is the iPad Mini 6?

Apple updates their iPad line every year do they not? Why has there been no update to the Mini? Next month will make two years. I know they went 4 years between the 4 and 5. Nothing Ive read about the Apple event next month has anything about the Mini 6. Where is it? Hopefully Apple hasn't dropped it like they are the iPhone Mini.

Yeah this is something I have been looking forward to but we will see if they will release one this year.

The mini isn’t necessarily high on Apples roadmap as the four year gap from 4 to 5 and old design language tell us.

Let’s hope this changes.

Questions like this that we can’t possibly answer with any authority. Why don’t you go to Apple and ask them?

Aren't there usually multiple new device certifications and filings months ahead of new iPads? Don't think we've seen any of those lately other than that one 'mystery' device that I'm assuming is AirTags.

Those same rumors have been around for about a year now. Even Kuo was sure the Mini 6 was coming last October and we got nothing. I just wanted to see if anyone had any info on if it would be announced at the March event coming up. Nothing I’ve read mention the iPad Mini 6.I don’t want to buy a Mini 5 if a new one is really coming out next month.

As I've often said, the iPad Mini has a different target market than the rest of the iPad lineup. The rumors of what a potential Mini 6 would be just doesn't match the needs of that target market. That made me skeptical of the probability of those rumors coming to fruition.

I would be quite surprised to see a new Mini (that replaces the 5) released in 2021. (By having said that I have now guaranteed that Apple will release one. ? )

Most? If most buyers were hoping for an iPad mini Apple would be releasing new models yearly. If Apple doesn’t mind waiting 4 years between models and using “old” parts in those “new” minis it speaks to just how many people are buying them compared to other models. My kid‘s old iPhone 10X has better specs than the newest mini was released with.
However, I’m not hating on the mini. I’d probably buy one if Apple releases one that’s more in line with the Air 4 or pros. Maybe this is the year.

If the iPad mini does have mini led that will explain the delay due to these displays being moved back due to COVID.

Awesome! Not much info there about it, but if its going to have an 8.5 inch display, that means its almost surely getting the updated design! Im hoping it will be just like the difference between the SE 2020 and the iPhone 12 Mini. The 12 Mini has a .6 inch larger display, but its smaller and lighter thanks to the new design. The iPad mini 6 is also getting a .6 inch larger display than the iPad mini 5 and should also be smaller and lighter.

Im expecting it to be identical to the Air 4, just a mini version of it, which will be awesome as I love my Air 4. 8.5 inch display, A14, updated design while being even smaller and lighter than my iPad mini 5? Shut up and take my money! Oh, and make it in the same green color as the Air 4 please.

I timed my iPad mini 5 purchase just right. I just got it a week ago, so I have until March 18th to return it. Apple event coming on March 16th, perfect.
