I dont think Caudabe are entirely at fault here. They are originally based in US and to ease the delivery delay issues they sourced out their operations especially for overseas territories.

Now the QC checks at these outsourced warehouses could be the problem. Most scenarios I have seen or read are with overseas customers.

QC checks in my opinion at US locations are far better.
Maybe- but as a US resident in a neighboring state (Pa) they’ve been disastrous this year. I’ve returned every case with one thing wrong or another. Overpriced and not checked prior to shipping imo

See if they ask me to run their operation in UK. Id be very strict with QC checks and above all id do it for free lol.

I’m in the U.S. and I’ve returned at least 50% of the Caudabe cases I’ve purchased over the past few years due to defects. If it’s worse overseas, wow.

ICARER leather case from Amazon for 20 euros. Looks like it’s the same OEM that makes cases for Andar.

Decided to also try this 19,99 Euro „Andar“ Leather case (since I had returned almost all other leather cases before) and honestly? I have no complaints. It has no QC problems whatsoever, all buttons are straight and very clicky with no gaps. The fit is perfect, everything aligns where it should and the leather has no weird chemical smell. It’s no Nomad level of leather quality but still feels nice and will probably also patina nicely. Very nice case for the low price. Wish I could use minimalistic cases more often.

Is that a brown color? I think it looks better than a red one.

Anyone else notice how apple’s silicone cases go kind of tacky/sticky after a few months use (no matter how often I clean it).

I got the blue when I got the 17 PM. After 4ish months it just felt horrible in hand. Got the purple and that’s done the same 🤷‍♀️.

So I’m currently using a £10 belkin case cos I refuse to spend another £50 on a case when I plan to get the 18 next month.

Think next year I’ll stick to tech woven. But I love how the silicone fits.

Yup, the dreaded “silicone patina”.

We need a definitive, compiled list of all the “handcrafted, luxury” leather case brands and which AliExpress/Amazon brand is the exact same product for a fraction of the price lol.

It’s getting harder and harder for me to support these leather brands. I know they’re all getting their cases from the same handful of suppliers (and that’s fine) but let’s stop the insane markups marketing spin acting like your brand designed this case to fit perfectly and only seek out out the finest quality tanneries yada yada yada

I’ve had my blue one since launch and it does get like that sometimes but a quick wipe down keeps it looking and feeling fresh. I wipe down my case once a day though (fingerprints/smudges bother me) so that may be why.

👍 My Apple silicone cases also still look like they're fresh out of the box after months. Okay, I switch them out often. But still, I haven't used any other cases for months. I don't really take special care of them either.

Me too! I’ve used phone cleaner. Lens cleaner. Monitor cleaner and straight up iso (I usually just use an antibacterial wet wipe) but no matter what it’s back to feeling awful within a few hours.
