I go back and forth between the Air and my 17 Pro Max. With the hot weather here in the UK the Air is perfect for fitting in shorts. When I use the Air it only lasts for 3 to 5 days and then I go back to the PM. Love them both so much I kept both. I did intend to send one back!
Yeah I still haven’t opened my Air yet but can totally understand about the shorts part as my 17 Pro does weight the pocket down a bit. I wasn’t intending to buy the Air again but the Costco deal made it almost impossible not to. I saw somewhere that iOS 27 will make it easier to swap between iPhones, not sure if there is any more info on that.

Definitely. I wouldn’t mind some wiggle I was fine with it or if you can hear it while shaking the phone nobody does that. But double tapping and hearing a clanking metal that was too much for me
You got a video recording that ? On my copy it seems that the action button is the only button that is rattling, and tapping on the screen doesn’t make any noise of metal from what you are describing, or do you mean actually tapping the button in question ?

I already returned it bro. Maybe it took a little bit of an aggressive double tap lol but I still shouldn’t be hearing that

I'm on iOS 26.6. Swopping eSim between PM and Air always goes without a hitch. Air back to PM sometimes takes 3 or 4 attempts for some reason. That said I just went from Air back to PM and worked first time. Took less than 5 mins.

Has anyone had a UPS package arrive at their local sorting facility and then get shipped back to the town where the package originally shipped from?

That’s what’s happening with a Caudabe case I ordered last week lol. Hopefully it shows up before the 18 Pro arrives 😂

Idk man maybe a good ol TW. I’m too scared to roll the dice on a 1500d Edge with my luck the corners will be sharper than my 600d that I returned
I like the TW but you’ll be playing the lottery again if my experience is any indication. One of mine is ridiculously loose, the other came straight out of the box with a small bubble on the back. Hopefully your luck is better than mine, but considering how it’s been going…

Do we know for sure that all 17 cases will fit the 18, or only that some newer cases designed specifically for the 18 will also retroactively fit the 17? The plateau and cameras are definitely going to be thicker.
It'll be a nice change this year if 17 Pro cases fit the 18 Pro.

What about really form fitting cases like Pitaka Edge? They're so precise so even 0.5-1.0mm difference would make the new phone not fit in the old case.

Mous is the only case so far that I don't seem to get accidental touches opening the screen with the stupid camera button.
The nomad modern looks like would be good button is recessed a bit not flush?
Anyone got it?

Wow yall are not going to believe what the hell just happened. I bet Amazon lowkey doesn’t believe me either. Lol. If yall were following the thread yall might have seen that I had ordered a Pitaka Summa and Benks Montage case. I wanted to test drive them both and keep the better of the two.

Got home was super excited to unbox and try them out. Opened the Benks first. Ripped open the package from the top and guess what?? No case inside just an empty box. Absolutely ridiculous. I was like there’s no chance in hell that this came factory sealed without a case. It wasnt until I was inspecting the box that on the Benks packaging you can slide the case open from the bottom. So I guess some shady scumbag opened the case from the bottom, stole the case, slid it back up and returned it as unopened. SMH at least Amazon believed me I was so done at this point and didn’t bother with a replacement just got an instant refund.

Amazon purchases are becoming a lottery, of used items sold as new, or worse, fraud cases like you experienced.

It has long been evident they don't inspect returned items at all, and just put them back into stock to be sent to the next customer.

And don't be surprised if your account becomes restricted in some fashion, or even banned if there is enough of a history of returns that they find troubling, real or imagined. Whatever internal criteria, or AI tools are being used to make such decisions are a mystery.

When there are other purchase options, like a brand's own web store, I'll seriously consider that route before Amazon.

But even there, a potential trap exists for brand stores that use Amazon's logistics as their fulfillment provider, so those purchases are subject to the same risks, from the same inventory.

Been switching between these two lately.
The MUJI clear case has that clean, minimalist look, but I keep coming back to the Tongate. I just prefer its design—it gives my iPhone 17 Pro a bit more character and fits my style better.
One-month update:

I started out using the slimmer MUJI case, but after a single drop onto concrete, it picked up quite a few scratches around the corners. I switched to the Tongate shortly afterward and have now been using it for almost a month.

My first impression was that it felt well-made and reassuringly solid. The included privacy screen protector was also better than expected—it feels smooth, and I haven’t noticed any issues with touch response.

The case looks bulky in photos, but it is surprisingly lightweight and easy to put on and remove. Despite the rugged styling, the overall design is clean and understated. It is noticeably wider than the MUJI case, though. I have fairly small hands, so one-handed use takes a little more effort.

The camera module is fully surrounded by the case, and the raised lip keeps the lenses off flat surfaces. I also use the rotating aluminum kickstand almost every day for YouTube and shows. It rotates 360 degrees and still feels sturdy.

I’ve dropped my phone two or three times, including once on rough pavement where it rolled several times. The phone was fine, and the case didn’t pick up any obvious scratches.

The extra width is noticeable, especially with smaller hands, but that’s the compromise with this type of protective case. I’ll keep using it for now and see how it holds up over a longer period.

I’ve received some returned items as new, which of course is never OK, but I’d say in my instance it’s been a relatively small percentage of purchases, probably less than 1-2%. That said, phone cases have been a disproportionately high number of those, which may indicate they are frequently returned items. Either that or I’m inspecting phone cases more closely, which makes the signs of being used more obvious.

It has long been evident they don't inspect returned items at all, and just put them back into stock to be sent to the next customer.
I’m not sure this is accurate. From what I’ve read, items are inspected, but not closely, and very quickly, which likely explains the mistakes. There continues to be a very large market for used Amazon returns (multi-billions), so at least some are being routed in that direction.

And don't be surprised if your account becomes restricted in some fashion, or even banned if there is enough of a history of returns that they find troubling, real or imagined. Whatever internal criteria, or AI tools are being used to make such decisions are a mystery.
Yup. Supposedly this depends somewhat upon an undisclosed ratio of purchases versus returns. We buy enough cr@p from Amazon that we haven’t yet been flagged, even though I’ve returned a lot of phone cases and some expensive electronics. They also search for patterns such as “wardrobing” where it’s clear someone is buying and returning items for one-time use (designer clothes usually).

I usually drop off my returns at our local Whole Foods. Their dedicated Amazon Returns counter is always super busy. The amount of returns they receive is mind boggling. I suspect that in the long run they may have to tighten this up. For now, it must still be worth it or they wouldn’t allow it.
