It seems like this year a few case manufacturers were a hair off on the dimensions perhaps because of the CAD leaks. The ones that got it right are the typical companies that partner with Apple like Otterbox, Tech21, Speck, etc. I received two more Amazon cases last night and while they fit ok, these cases in the past hugged the phone more.

I went for the black silicone case and my wife got the clear case.

I’ve got the same case. It’s been on my 12 since launch day and so far, it’s holding up well. I’ve never owned an Apple silicone case before. So far, ehh. It’s soft and feels ok, but it’s a lint magnet and hard to get in and out of my pocket. I’m still waiting for my Nomad case that is now scheduled for delivery by Tuesday.

How are you liking the black silicone case? I’m thinking of returning mine to Best Buy.

Just a heads up for those interested in the Nomad Rugged Case in the Natural colorway, I used mine for a couple of days and then the rubberized trim started to turn highlighter yellow. I’m guessing there’s some component of the leather that is bleeding into the rubber causing some sort of reaction. I reached out to Nomad to see if this is a known issue.

Damn thanks for the heads up. I’m going to try it out once it gets here. I wouldn’t think anything would bleed into the plastic tpe from the leather since it’s natural untreated leather? No dyes or waxes used when making the case. Maybe the glue used to hold the leather down is somehow oozing onto the bumper?

I got the Evutec and I’m so disappointed.
First off it feels rubbery. I thought the aramid fiber would have more of a matte feel to it but it’s very slick.
Next thing is the sides are much thicker than they need to be because instead of making them flat to match the phone they have 4 little grooves all around the perimeter. It’s a phone case not a snow tire!

They of course had to bulk up the edge to allow for the grooves.
I got a PU leather case that is actually slimmer. When leather is thinner than aramid fiber something is very wrong.
I also hate the buttons. The buttons actually have slits cut around the button covers to make them more flexible, I suppose, but to me those slits are simply opportunities for dust and dirt to get inside the case and scratch the phone.

It does have magnets embedded in the back so it holds really well to the included vent mount magnetic holder but it won’t hold to the standard dash mount magnet that I already had.
And it does still allow for Qi charging even with the embedded magnets. That’s its only saving grace. The magnetic mount that still allows Qi charging.
It’s supposed to be MagSafe compatible but I don’t have a charger to test it with.

They have always been like that, some say they get better in time smooth out and less lint.

Well..... lol, that doesn’t look to bad. If that happens to mine, I’ll contact Nomad as well. Maybe I’ll request to have it swapped out for their original brown leather case.
I feel like I saw a review on YouTube (maybe for the 11 pro) and the rubber was even more yellow. I’m interested in the dark brown nomad. Curious how the buttons are though. I got a cheap case on Amazon from Torras as well but also want a leather one.

I’ve had no issues yet and I use my pinky to rest the phone on. Feels soft against my finger, so don’t know if something was wrong with yours.

I have also been using it since launch day and I really like it. I was expecting to use it for a while and then look for another case, but I will be using this one for a long time. The MagSafe is awesome and I like the grip it has. The clear version my wife has is also a great case, but it does seem more slippy.

I purchased the caudabe sheath and the lifeproof wake to decide between the two. If you want the best grip and full protection the caudabe wins. If you want to show off the stainless steel with the open bottom and still have adequate protection the lifeproof wake is an amazing case. The lifeproof mimics the previous years apple official leather and silicone cases and I absolutely love that. It also gives a nice spot for your finger to rest. I was disappointed that the apple silicone and leather cases closed the bottom.

I am keeping the lifeproof wake for sure and sending the caudabe back.

Did you try one? looking for a leather case with open bottom.
Yeah, I returned it in favour of an ESR leather case.

Mujjo cases are really nice but I’m not a huge fan of the buttons. Also, the bottom corners move away from the phone pretty easily.

I saw the wake in store but couldn't try it, are the sides really slippery?

What colour did you get? I ordered a navy blue can't cancel now preparing to ship, will use till i see what their leather case is like. Think i really want a case with no bottom so cancels out a lot.
Don't really want to play the buy and sell case game this time lol ;), at least i tried all the big name cases last year so know what not to buy.

I think initially it is, but after the oils in your hands get on it it’s a very nice grip. I ran some water over it and it’s perfect.

thanks, they seem very light? how does the back feel? what about pinky test on bottom? lol.
