While bulky, I have been using the Rebel2 on my 12PM. It's also heavier than most - but the magnets used for MagSafe are far superior to ANY case I have tried. I tend to use it in my car as it hasn't fallen off of the mount regardless of the pothole size I have hit.

I have also used the Pitaka with the MagSafe capabilities, which is slightly weaker but has held well.

dbrand Grip "apparently" fixed their MagSafe version. I have a replacement coming and am hoping it is fixed. The grip is lighter, of course, grippier and just feels great in my hand. It just never worked on the car phone mounts... crossing my fingers on this.

I really like my Rebel 2. The stronger magnets really make a difference.

For you Rebel2 owners...does the inside of your case just absolutely stink? I got mine in last week, and while I like it, holy moly the inside of the case smells like a super strong adhesive or something... really bad!

What did dbrand fix with the MagSafe version?

Nope. Never had that issue with mine.

Supposedly the first batch had the wrong magnets. Because the Pro Max is heavier, it should have had stronger magnets.

They say they corrected it. I will find out Saturday when the new one should arrive. If they did and it's as strong as the Pitaka I have I will be happy. The Rebel2 is in a class by itself when it comes to magnet strength

Quick question as I’m out of the loop, am I right to assume that the safe way to get the absolutely strongest magsafe magnets is to get an Apple case?
Are there 3rd party magsafe-equipped cases that can touch Apple’s ones in that regard?

What’s the verdict? I reached out to them and they wanted me to send a video of the weak magnet strength, which I did. They’re sending me another case.

Because of the weak magnets I hadn’t even considered getting a MagSafe wallet or anything. If the Phone Rebel Flex ever comes out maybe I’ll try that one and experience their magnet strength with that.

After doing a full cycle of starting out with a blue ESR leather case, going through Apple leather cases, Decoded leather cases, fake leather cases, Apple clear cases, thin cases, going caseless. I am now back at where I started and have a new blue ESR leather case.

It feels different to when I had one first time round. A bit softer almost.

I'm going to endeavour to keep with this now. It's the perfect colour and fit whilst probably not the best quality leather out there, for the price (£13.99), it's bang on.

The new case dbrand sent me is definitely a MagSafe case and with my 12 PM, it will stay on the magnetic car mount now. I will have the true test today while on my 350 mi journey over some rough roads. If it passes this, then I am set. I too had to do the video. I showed them in the case I had with no phone, with my 12 PM in and against the Pitaka. I believe this is now as strong as the Pitaka's magnets.

Anyone have the rebel for the 12 pro? Curious if the tpu is flimsy as I have heard it was for the 12 PM? Any insight would be appreciated

I have the clear back for the PM and I like it. It's not the extreme tight fit of a solidsuit but it's good. The volume edge can be pulled away and the charge port isn't super tight, but it's better than many others, definitely better than something like the sheath or Onyx. The buttons are good, again not solidsuit good but better than many others. Asymmetrical cutouts. It's my second favorite case after the solidsuit.

I have tried 3. I use the Belkin 3 x 1 charger and a car vent holder.
ESR clear case the magnet is too strong. Pulled the vent holder off, moves the Belkin off the desk, don't like the case anyway.
The black apple leather case is strong not as strong as the ESR, was too sticky and corners popping off so sold it.
Nomad black strength is perfect imo, doesn't move the charger around and holds strong in the car but easier to get off.
Hardly shows the ring on back too v the Apple leather, buttons not as good though.

I ordered a clear Peel case back in November. Peel sent the wrong case and I was unhappy with it, so they refunded both cases and I got to keep them. Yesterday I put the Peel soft case on it, and it’s noticeably thinner than my Caudabe Lucid Clear case. It feel like I almost don’t have a case on it, and I still get to show off the Pacific Blue color.

So I got to use my updated Dbrand Grip case on my drive from MA to MD. Overall, it works well. A few pretty jarring bumps in road construction knocked it off. The Rebel2 would not have popped off, so maybe on longer trips I will just use the Rebel2 for driving and the Grip for everything else.
