Was at my local Marshall’s- speck Presidio pro in blue for 10.99. Figured why not. Makes me realize how greasy my hands are unfortunately. But for $10.99, it’s fine

How do you like it set up that way? I haven't gotten dbrand in a long time.
sorry late reply. it's pretty easy though you need a hairdryer to get the best fit by heating the material.
It's a durable skin when heated with the hairdryer you can get the edges very smooth and a perfect fit.

a MagSafe sheath?

Looking for a protective case so when my 2 year old rage monster throws my phone, I don’t have to be too worried. Preferably with Mag Safe, but not the end of the world. Any recommendations or ones to avoid? Preferably not the otterbox defender.

I was going to say the original Otterbox Defender if you want the most protective case but you don’t like that one.

The Dbrand grip is very protective

After 2 month of Dbrand Grip case usage — I still really like the texture and the overal design, but skin is too easy to smudge (especially by the MagSafe ring, those smudges was visible even after 2 or 3 days). And of cause magnets, strength of wich about 1/2 or even 1/3 of original cases.

Maybe a little but really not an issue enough to put me off. For me it's the minimalist look combined with the grippy texture, slim profile and protection. Haven't dropped my 12 Mini until today just by chance and the Sheath protected it perfectly well.

Honestly, think I'm a customer for life with them now!
Is yours MagSafe?

Does anyone know of a case that has a grippy feel like the Apple silicone case, but has the little holes on the corners (or just one corner) to attach a wrist band? Something like the Catalyst Crux system.

Call off the search. This is my first post to this forum after following it for a long time, so first I want to thank everyone for making my wallet much lighter....now I have become a huge fan of the Apple Magsafe wallet and when i first got my 12PM I was using the official leather case and loved it, but i needed something more rugged for my trips and outdoor adventures. So I tried the following:

  • dbrand Grip: absolutely hated it, got a bad first batch with weak magnets. Got a replacement and the magnets were not that much better, plus the thing gets incredibly dirty and with the OCD i have that was a deal breaker.
  • Caudabe Sheath: love this case, its an incredible case but with no Magsafe option I had to move on.
  • Otterbox Aenu: really disappointed with the cheap feeling of this case because of how expensive it is, however I will say that Otterbox got the magnet strength right.
  • Otterbox Symmetry+: this case is a great case and the magnets are incredibly strong. This would be my daily driver if it was not for my brand new case that arrived today.
  • Caudabe Synthesis Magsafe: This case is the winner in my opinion, super well made, super thin, perfect amount of grip, and the magnets have to be the closest to Apple's own cases that I have tried. I am in love with this case.
So in conclusion I want to thank this forum for pointing me in its direction and letting me know when it was made available.

How is the grip on the Synthesis? I tried it years ago and found that it wasn’t even as grippy as their own Sheath. I’ve been using the dbrand Grip so now I’m used to that level of grip, although I know most cases won’t be on that level.

Almost time to start the case thread for the iPhone 13! I've been done buying cases for my 12 PM for the past few months. I have too many! I upgrade every year.

I just bought and retuned. I found the grip to be nonexistent. There’s texture but it doesn’t do much in my opinion. As this thread goes, everyone’s experience is different but know it’s not perfect.

If you’re looking for grip I recommend the Decoded MagSafe case. After the first few days (maybe a week) the grip is very good. I’ve always had Apple leather cases but Decoded succeeded where Apple failed this year.

edit: I should emphasize that it’s pretty slippery the first week. Somebody that lives here that isn’t me dropped it on our concrete patio and the case took some damage. As leather should, it has healed itself nicely.

Good imo, back is slippery and same as OB Symmetry feel, sides are good. Check out TT's video he nails it, exactly as he says.
