I’ve always loved the Apple silicone cases so got one with my new 12 Pro. Unfortunately I really dislike it due to the new form factor (feels a lot clunkier than the 11 Pro case) and especially the new screen lip at the bottom. Every time I swipe up I think about it.

Anyone else having issues with this? I’m even considering returning the entire phone and going back to an 11 Pro.

You’re considering going back to an 11 just because of a case?

Haha, sorry if I was unclear. That came off as a big dramatic :) I’m saying the new silicone case ruins the 12 Pro for me – and I don’t think I dare go without one. Again, really liked the same case on the 11 Pro. The new bottom bit is the worst but the whole thing makes the phone so much clunkier in my opinion.

Picked up a cheap ESR that came with a couple of screen protectors. Its fine.

I then ordered a Torras after multiple mentions on here. Its really nice and will be my go to case for when I’m outside the house (I’m going caseless indoors). Even on my 11 I struggled to find a clear case that really just ‘got out of the way’ of the design of the phone. The Torras does that really well. And even fits with a front and rear glass protector on.

I prefer not to have a lip at the bottom as I think the swiping experience is better without it but there are very few cases for the 12 that don’t have a lip. Pitaka is about the only one I think of and that is very minimal. Personally I am just accepting it and getting used to the lip on the silicone which isn’t too bad

Which Torras one did you get please?

Thanks for that...still deciding whether the Baltic Blur on the Pacific Blue is overkill or not.

The one above with PB and Baltic blue kinda matching in colour. I think it just hits the sweet spot.
Initially, I’d like to go clear case to showcase PB colour but this case setup just hits what I require. Now decision is to go black wallet for low profile or saddle brown wallet to build interesting contrast.

I got a Snakehive folio case in teal.

Afraid I only have a rubbish camera to hand - apologies for poor quality. Colour is much nicer than it appears - both the grey and the teal. Despite me making some adjustments before posting!

There is an ESR screen protector attached.

It is bulkier than some other similar cases (e.g. partner has Nomo case for an iPhone 8) but seems as if it will provide decent protection. Feels decently made.

The crease down the back is starting to flex more easily - which makes it very easy to hold in my left hand.

Just under £30 in the UK directly from the company's website.

Whenever I see people using phones with these cases, they just seem like a massive pain in the a***.

At one time, that would have been true for me as well. I liked to be able to put the phone in a breast pocket and grab it for use. But I am not now sitting at a desk, where that was helpful. And I used a Spigen bumper case. Further, I had to use my left index finger for Touch ID (my right index finger was too unreliable - however many times I reset it).

But changes in life and habits have meant it is just fine. And Face ID seems to be working better than I expected.

Nudient case arrvied. It feels nice in the hand, doesn't add much bulk. The silicone isn't as grippy when it comes to lint but it's still a little slippery. This may change over time with usage. The button cut outs do make accessing the buttons a little harder, but I'm sure I'll adjust.

With how flat the new iPhones are, has anyone considered just using a back glass protector in lieu of a case. Found a few from amazon but no reviews on them yet. Wondering if anyone has gone this route.

Those with the Apple leather cases, do you find it to increase the thickness of the phone?
