Exchanged my PB pro and BB case for the graphite and black leather. I always go black and thought I’d go outside of my comfort zone this year...that did not last very long.

liking the case and have until 8 Jan to decide if I want to keep it. Love the new long return date:)

I did that last year with the midnight green. After a couple of months I longed to return to black/space grey. Back with graphite it’s year. I’ve leaned my lesson.

Can anyone with a glass screen protector say how much lip there is on the Apple leather or silicone? Looking to see if I could lay it face down without the screen protector touching the table.
I'm using the ESR glass screen protector (listed as .3 mm) with the Apple Silicone case on my 12 Pro. The screen protector does not touch the table when I lay it face down.

With the X I had a few speck presido clear cases. they were so stiff and hard to get on they worked well even when the phone falls and smashes screen down on a concrete floor - the screen protector was never broken

but with the 11 pro max i also bought a speck and it was a lot looser and a result when the phone falls to the floor face first the screen protector would get chipped since the phone would sort of bend out of the case for a short time since the case wasnt tight enough so after changing the screen protector 3 times i gave up on that and bought a pelican case and havent had the problem since

now the question is how are the speck gemshells or the speck presidio 2 armor cloud .. are they stiff enough like the specks for the iphone X and is the Otterbox symmetry clear case better than the clear specks or roughly the same..

I had the armor cloud for my iPhone 12 Pro but ended up returning it. It's a good case (stiff so no give) and a tight fit which made it quite tough to remove the phone from the case. Also, the lip of the case was bigger than the UAG Monarch case so if it falls flat on its screen I'm sure the device will be just fine. And the volume/power button had a nice tactile feel.

My biggest complaint with the case is how slippery it is. If it had some grips it would've been my favorite case for the device but it always felt like it would slip from my hand when I held it. Sucks because the case has such a cool look.

I was thinking about this one as well, but the shiny back is likely quite scratch prone, unfortunately

What about the otterbox symmetry clear -- i wonder if its nice and snug like the speck armor cloud2. Yes i know lots of these are slick but that part doesnt bother me. i just want something very snug so it doesnt slip out for half a second when the phone hits the floor face down

after removing the case once, ive noticed super fine scratches on the sides. they are veryyyy fine but its ALL over the phone lol. i have never used the phone naked so im assuming it all came from the case. have you checked if the same thing happened to yours?
Not a single scratch after 2-3 days of continuous use with the solidsuit on.

I tried the regular non-clear symmetry and the fit was good. Not as good and tight as the armor cloud. Honestly, if you don't care about the slickness of the case I highly recommend it. The slickness was my only complaint and the dealbreaker for me. I now use the Black Apple magsafe leather case which feels amazing but nowhere near as protective and my mous limitless 3.0 arrives tomorrow so fingers crossed that case meet my expectations.

I would say if they released a grip version of the armor cloud I will purchase it immediately as that should resolve my only issue with the case.

I do not like Apple's new silicone case for my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I miss the bottom cutout that my last Apple leather case had. Everytime I try to swipe up the bottom of the case is in the way.

I agree with you that the bottom lip makes it harder to swipe up. Check out the Mujjo leather case. It has the bottom cutout. I have one for my 12 Pro Max and I'm liking it so far. The buttons are stiff at the beginning, but the hope is over time it'll soften up and be pretty responsive.

Yep, Apple finally changed the design this year for the Silicone and Leather cases as well to not leave the bottom open. I know many people will rejoice, but I am one of the few that really liked the open bottom design. Might have been tougher with the flat edges this year.

I'm incredibly curious as to why you like the open bottom? My clear MagSafe has an open bottom but I can see tiny hairline scratches on the steel frame already and it's bumming me out.

Kinda wish I had started out with the Kumquat silicone case but I wanted to show off the PB color. Kinda bit me in the butt. LOL. Oh well, it's bound to happen.

My X got all kinds of scratches FROM the actual cases I used so it cannot be avoided, I suppose.

Makes sense. I never quite understood why the grip matters. I don't grab my phones with an iron grip or anything and yet when I drop it has nothing to do with slipping its just clumsiness. Maybe its to do with the gripping style of a persons fingers. I dont even have huge hands.

So basically thespeck armor2, white back, black site, super pads on the side, or the clear symmetry thats a bit less tight and shows the phones blue color. decisions decisons lol

What’s the best super slim cases with good fitment ? Peel and totallee ? Anything else ? Pics ?

I have more at different angles. If you want to see those, just let me know. This clear case is the most comfortable to use but buttons are stiffer than say the Torras clear case. The jet white is pretty much like holding the phone without a case but less slippery, not as comfortable to hold.

The orange UAG looks great on the back but the front's 'edges' from the screen look a little shallow to take a hit compared to a speck or an otterbox symmetry..

Would love to see some front shots of the peel clear case if poss please to try and see how thin the front lip is TIA ?

I returned my Apple silicone case and bought the Apple leather case when it was released. The leather really is very nice, and fits very well (I’ve read others have had issues).

I also ordered a cheap bumper from eBay UK, and I must say I prefer it to the leather case!

Read on here that someone had a bumper for theirs and ordered one expecting it to be crap. It’s nice to hold, adds minimal bulk and is very pocketable.

Not had a bumper since my iPhone 7.

A couple of reasons. First, when the screen is off, it makes it more apparent which end of the phone is the top and which end is the bottom. I also like the way the naked phone feels when resting against my pinky...the phone itself never bugged me, but I've tried a number of enclosed bottom cases over the years, and almost every one rubbed my pinky in an uncomfortable way after some time. (I did have one phone a few years back where the trim around the charging port wasn't quite flush and felt rough, and that was annoying). Last, I've had issues with some cases interfering with the lightning cable. Now that I use wireless charging stands almost exclusively, that one is not really an issue anymore.

I've never had issues with scratches from plugging in the phone, but I'm also very careful, it's just my nature.

I decided to buy the Apple leather case for my 12 Pro Max since my sheath is not fitting snug. The Saddle Brown is nice and the buttons...!!!

I ordered early Sunday morning and it was delivered outside my door today, Monday morning before 9AM. That’s some very fast shipping.
When trying to take the leather case out from the box, I accidentally nicked the corner of the leather. It’s leather and it’s bound to happen. I haven’t encounter the corner of the case becoming undone yet. Love the color and the case. I appreciate the bottom protection with this iteration this year. It’s also pinky friendly, at least to me. I guess the callous on my pinky makes all cases pinky friendly.
