After getting a Caudabe Sheath and Apple leather Saddle brown case for my 12 PM, I decided to order the black silicone and Baltic Blue leather. I have only ever used the Apple leather cases on my previous iPhones. I never even held the silicone before. I’m very impressed with the black silicone. It feels great in my hands and does not pick up lint or dust. It’s a keeper.

The Baltic blue is going back. I guess I was expecting a different shade of blue. I’m keeping the Saddle Brown and Black Silicone. It’s too late to return my Sheath. The Sheath is a great case and if it wasn’t for the defect, I would probably be using it and not explore other cases. If only I had just ordered the Apple cases initially.
The silicone will start to pick up lint and dust after it’s ‘worn in’ and has been used for a few days

Happy with my ESR screen protector and a “Torras” case (£15) from Amazon Uk.
The back is translucent so you can just about make out the Apple logo. It comes with black buttons as standard and a packet with yellow and red replacements. I swapped the buttons for red as it gives the case a bit of contrast ( and helps identify which is the top ?)
Only downside is the matte black back tends to show smudges.
This looks good. Is it the black case? The photos make it look navy, but I can't see a navy option on Amazon. Also like the Brompton addition!

Yes it’s black, my photos don’t really do it justice, there’s a better photo by another poster a few comments down from mine which is better quality.
I wondered if anyone would spot the Brompton triptych, the back of the phone case is semi translucent, the Apple and Brompton logos are more apparent in the photos than in real life. I’ve got a red and black Brommie so swapping out the buttons on the phone case for the red ones means my phone’s coordinated with my bike ?

Awesome on the coordination. Bikes are far more important than any phone (I’m on the wrong forum) ?

Want to share my case experience with the 12 PM.

I pre-ordered a Pitaka Air case and an Otofly silicone case (cheap model on Amazon) as I awaited shipment of my 12 PM.

The Pitaka Air case was insanely thin and light and provided pretty solid grip. I did not like the exposed areas for the buttons and the exposed top/bottom. I decided to return it after using it for a few days. It's also super expensive for what it is. ($60)

The Otofly case was terrible. The looseness near the buttons and port drove me crazy. I also tried a Surphy silicone case as that was what I had been using on my 8 Plus and I had previously loved it. Sadly it was far inferior silicone quality compared to their earlier model and had the same looseness around the buttons and port.

I purchased a black Apple silicone case with a Best Buy gift card that I thankfully had. I say that as I feel the $50 retail price of this case is simply ridiculous.

I will say I'm a big fan of this case. There are no loose areas around the buttons and port. My only real issue is that the buttons do not provide a satisfying tactile feeling. I believe they are simply silicone covers. I would have gone with hard plastic if I were Apple.

I do appreciate that MagSafe is a part of the silicone case. I am interested in trying a future dash mount and stand for my home office. Unlike many others, I think MagSafe is actually a great feature of the new iPhones.

I also have a DBrand swarm skin pre-ordered. I hate the slippery frosted back of the 12 PM and I want the added grip if I ever decide to remove the 12 PM from a case. I'm also interested to see how I like using the 12 PM with simply a grippy skin.

I bought an Otterbox Aneu to use while I waited for my SolidSuit to arrive, and to my surprise I wound up really liking it. It’s slim, has good grip, and the shape of the lip around the screen makes swiping more comfortable, which is something I hadn’t considered before.

The SolidSuit finally got here, and I think I might just return it. I know it’s nitpicking, but the speaker cutouts are just a bit off center, so the cutout grazes the edge of the speaker. That combined with the cutouts being symmetrical really bugs me.

What do you guys recommend if one is looking for an ultra slim but also as much grip as possible? And also I would like it to have buttons, at least not cut out like peel and most 0.3mm cases I've seen. Having the buttons flush is such an unpleasant feel I think. Closest thin I've found so far is the Pitaka Air case, but it's not perfect...

Seems like most here are going back to the Apple cases. Are the third party cases not getting it done this year??

I think the caudabe sheath would beg to differ.
From the review section of the 12 PM Sheath. I don't suggest anyone buy this case for now......

FRANK FROM CALIFORNIA
NOVEMBER 14, 2020

This is usually a great case, but this year the side volume and power buttons don’t protrude as well as before. In particular, this makes it hard to tell if you’re pressing the up or down volume button. The other thing it seems to be lacking is mag pro features. It’s otherwise an excellent case and I will likely buy next year’s iPhone 13 case.

Hi Frank, really glad to get your feedback and glad to hear you like the Sheath! Each year, once the iPhones are released, we review all of our products carefully to see if there are any areas we can further perfect. You'll be happy to note that a revision is already underway to add a little bit of extra height to the buttons. They work great already, but as you mentioned they could be just slightly taller. Feel free to contact us at support@caudabe.com and we'd be happy to ship you a replacement once they're ready! - Caudabe

No it isn't. The rubber lines on the back are gone and are now made of the same hard plastic as the rest of the case. A lot of people think it was a mistake. Myself included.

What about this then?

/me is confused.
