That looks nice. Would prefer a sale.

I only have the black Apple leather for my 12 PM so far. Looking for a more rugged case but it seems a lot of the third party cases are kind of crap this year. Wish Nomad had better buttons. :(

Catalyst is the bomb the frosted back shows no fingerprints I have owned many over the years this new version is even better I also have a UAG civilian series it’s a little thicker but it’s nice. I have a mous Aramid Fiber case that’s lost in the mail as of now so waiting on feedback from the company I have all the information and tracking numbers hopefully it’s resolved yeah I know I am a case addict who likes to swap out often

This is a super bummer. Why the heck would they change it after all these years?

My guess is that they wanted to mitigate the rubber grips deteriorating because of oils and other factors such as people using a lot more hand sanitizer. I remember years ago Speck having issues with the TPU they used peeling and flaking around the screen. They finally fixed that issue, but I wonder if they were having the same sort of issues with the old rubbery grips on the back, so they made this change?

Was thinking about that UAG model. Any good? How are the buttons? Any sag near the ports?

That Catalyst does look nice. I kind of like this black one they have as well.

Quite possibly did not think about that. I do remember the flaking around the screen too.

That’s the vibe series I watched a YouTube video because I was curious about that one and it’s kinda rubbery and really bendable but the influence series the one I choose is solid like the past catalyst cases and as for the UAG civilian series it’s very solid and no loosening around the lightning port

If you are curious about any case YouTube is your friend

Lol was just seeing that. Not into the rubbery plastic kind of case. I may look into the one you have. Buttons are good on it I assume?

Here are pictures of the Catalyst INFLUENCE CASE FOR IPHONE 12 PRO MAX.

How are you liking this case? Is the phone hard to get in and out of the case? Are the sides a hard tpu or softer material? How are the redirected speaker & mic?

Oh yeah buttons are great and I always liked how catalyst has the patented mute switch dial on the side and this version has the new design that pushes the sound forward on the bottom it keeps dust and lint or whatever from getting in the speaker grill and the lightning port is protected well might not be your style but I am willing to bet you would like it

I may have to pick this up. Checks all the boxes for me to be honest. @Hooterville you know you will buy it lol.

I think it sucks too. The grippy rubber on the sides and back was the best thing about the case.

I will say two summers ago I was using the case and the rubber lines started to lose shape and eventually some fell off. I believe it was because I was on a hot beach for many days and the rubber could not handle the temps. I still think they should have kept the rubber though. I can't imagine the hard plastic in that shape is comfortable to handle nor provide the same level of grip.

They’re not terrible, but they’re also not really clicky. They’re kinda mushy. But I returned the black Nomad case I had because the top didn’t cover the frame entirely. For the price of a case like that, it needs to be perfect.

Thanks. Trying to decide Nomad or Catalyst.

So just how bad are the Nomad buttons? I have decisions to make here lol.
They’re ok. It’s really just a raised bump on the sides of the case that you kind of have to mash to get any sort of feedback from. I’ve gotten used to them over these last couple of weeks and I really don’t see myself using a different case at this point. I do really like that carved case though, but I think I’ll stick with the Nomad for now.

@KentuckyHouse, definitely! I’d ask for a replacement case or a refund if my Nomad didn’t fit correctly. Nomad’s customer support I pretty good.
