Otterbox has a light blue case that should look pretty good with the Sierra blue. Ordered!
I love the golden brown leather case, but I hate how it gets dirty on the edges and it becomes black, I know ppl like the patina but I wish they had leather cases that dont get dirty which I dont think thats possible.
Buy the Chinese knock offs. They use fake leather so it doesn’t get as gross but are often shockingly similar quality. I intentionally stopped buying leather watch bands for the same reason.
I wonder is it possible that leather midnight case is darker than silicone? Even when you look on the Apple website and have them side by side (e.g. by having them both in the cart) you can barely see Apple logo on the leather one, while it is clearly visible on the silicone. Silicon case looks definitely brighter than leather.
Waiting for my silicone case. Also went with the ESR screen protectors from Amazon.
I feel that the leather colors are always a little richer because they aren’t as matte, but it’s very similar.
But they look to me as 2 different colors even on Apple website if you look closely. The silicon midnight looks more like greyish (some users were saying even blueish), than true black. In such case no brainer for me to go for leather midnight as a true black.
Both are a cool toned black. It looks black until you see it next to true black. Midnight is not exactly the same as their old true black, but you wouldn’t notice it in person by itself. It’s a black, but leans cool under very bright light. I wouldn’t call it blue - anyone aiming for a blue case will be disappointed. While most people will be like you, and just assume it’s black.
Ok. I'm just going to call Dark Cherry "Mixed Fruit." 😆
The YouTube video posted earlier was spot on. All about lighting. The case does come off a dark maroon/cherry (indoor settings, warmer light from what I can tell).
But turn the phone slightly, you will get a darker Plum hue.
Outdoors, the color change seems more dramatic. Dark Plum...big hint of purple in certain angles.

Not sure how to feel right now. It's very different for me personally. the hints of plum / purple as you tilt, turn the phone...or bright light is not my color of choice..that's just me. But love the deep red. Just have to have it in certain lighting conditions. I took it out again, darker office setting, warm light and yeah it looks amazing. It might grow on me? I'll see.
There was a thread months ago - what would be the "special Pro Color" for 2021. Dark red was mentioned many times.
I would have placed money on "Wine Red / Napa Valley Red...a deep dark red" Very similar to this case color (minus the purples). Sierra blue I did not expect.

Both will arrive to be by this Sunday. Then it is only a matter of waiting to receiving my Silver 13 Pro Max. I had a chance to see the 12 Pro Max in Gold, Silver and Pacific Blue. I originally thought I wanted the Pacifci Blue. This might sound strange but the blue was too much blue. I thought the Gold and Silver were gorgeous because there was a contrast in the colors on the sides and back. Silver having the biggest contrast in colors. I love seeing silver and white. I never seem to get tried of that color combination. The Sierra Blue looks very nice and I think I would prefer it over Pacific Blue. I think having darker sides and a lighter back is a great color combination. The other thing I was thinking of doing was putting a red skin on the back of the phone. That is the nice thing about the Silver and White combination, it is easy to add other colors and it would really look gorgeous.
It has been 6 years since I have bought a new iPhone. I will be going from an 6S+ to the 13 Pro Max. It will be interesting holding the heavy beautiful beast.

To the extent that these cases take on some patina, I think it will look incredible and burnished with some wear. Definitely getting for my incoming gold 13PM. Thanks for posting such great pics.
I would love to see a "real" copper colored iPhone. When I say real, I mean the Copper would patina green over time. I think that would look amazing because the patina would not be the same for all people due to the environment for the person.
Thanks I was torn between purple and this orange tan with my powder blue phone. Yeah I know, but just calling it how I see it. Orange tan it will be.
Appreciate the pics! While some look great, as you said it’s all about the lighting. Based off that I am seeing too much purple tone for my liking. It may very well darken up over time but I think I will just stick with Seq Green. It’s a crazy color though the way it comes off in different environments.
I’ve been using Speck cases since my 4s. Between the awful colors they have now and getting rid of the rubber grips, I’m giving them a pass this year.

My son has California Poppy for his iPhone 12 and the Golden brown is most definitely deeper in color compared to CP. its sort of in between California Poppy and Saddle Brown. I actually think it looks much better in person and not as drab and dark as most of the other iPhone 13 leather cases. Very pleased with it!

No problem. I agree, I do wish it didn't do this crazy color change...just stayed a solid dark red/maroon. I could have handled a slight dark plum color change...no biggie. But the brighter purple hue at angles, bright outdoors (nothing against purple), it's not my favorite color.
And patina..thought about that also. May darken..or not?
Hoping it's not like some of last years cases with dye coming off on the edges - we'll see. (My Baltic Blue case last year became an ugly mess..ugh)
I probably will return, exchange for that Sequoia Green. Again, loved that on my 6+, XS Max...but wanted to try something new this time, oh well I tried. This dark cherry, for me I don't think will do it.
Want this case, but can’t seem to get a accurate color reading for it, some photos it looks darker and other photos it looks lighter, prefer it to be lighter in color, can’t go to a apple store to see because of lockdown 🤦♂️
