Got a blue one. But doubting it’s original. There is no MagSafe animation when putting it on. I thought that was a thing?

Yes there should definitely be a MagSafe animation. Do your others do an animation? Every time I’ve popped any silicone or leather from Apple the animation pops up. You didn’t order it from Apple or any first party seller like Best Buy, Amazon etc… I’m assuming.

Rebooting the phone solved it. Also didn’t know that was still a thing on iPhones 😀. Like the colour. But it’s slippery as hell!

Really!? I find silicone to be grippy. Leather to me is a bit slippery. Which blue did you get? Abyss Blue?

Sorry to be a pain, but this thread is 146 pages so I'm not sure I can scan through it all! Could someone perhaps be so kind as to write me a little list of the generally regarded 'best' cases? I like leather or TPU - I work in a dusty environment so generally avoid anything branded as 'liquid silicone' or similar as when I use them they seem to attract lint like mad!! I was desperate to like the Apple silicone cases, but the lint gets out of control.

Names I've so far read in this thread and like the look of: Caudabe Sheath, Gripmunk, Bullstrap and Andar Aspen. If there's any others I should check out I'd be very grateful for anyone suggesting them, thanks

Geez, I’ve had this case for about 5 days, definitely did not drop it or bumped it and just noticed this little cut in the bottom left. I guess this leather is literally like butter. Too bad as I thought this years Apple Leather cases felt better in hand then last years.

Give it a few days, apple leather & silicone cases are always slippery at the start, after a few days, it'll be sticking in your hands like glue.

That’s a pretty good list to start. I’ve used all but the Gripmunk and enjoyed each but also had fitment issues with all three so be wary of that.

I’d throw Nomad in there as a fourth thumb up. They’re a little more rugged but the materials are top notch and they’ve drastically improved their button tactility with this latest generation.

Nomad modern would be perfect, leather back, tpu/rubber sides or whatever it is, buttons are excellent now. The black doesn't seem to mark/scratch up as much as the brown.
0 lint.

Sheath is heavy, not as good protection, sides come away from phone easy, grip can be hit and miss.

Sides come away easy with Sheath? I have to disagree, the sheath is such a snug fitting case there definitely aren’t any issues with that.

Sal, you're back! Please take a pic of nectarine when you get it. I'm trying to decide between that and eucalyptus. thanks :)

Nectarine and Eucalyptus are such different ends of the spectrum lol

Nectarine is a super vibrant energetic eye catching color

Eucalyptus is a soothing earthy mellow color that doesn’t grab attention like Nectarine does

They are both such different choices and don’t compare at all. Personally I prefer Eucalyptus (to some people it would be the more boring option) Nectarine screams for attention too much for my liking.

This is me speaking from having gone to the Apple Store and seeing/trying on those cases.

Yep they do, might be snug but pulls away from the phone easily compared to apple leather and nomad modern, seen it with a drop.

Bummer. It’s shaped like a lip. More lip on the case now.

Awesome thanks! I have not gotten a brighter citrusy color yet so Nectarine was in there for a change of pace, but didn’t realike it was so bright, I was hoping it was more like Pink Pomelo. Will most likely grab eucalyptus now since I am not wanting to draw too much attention.

Apple Leather/silicone cases don’t wrap around the phone at all (the stainless steel is still exposed from the front) they are so easy to pull out of the case. The Sheath wraps around the phone completely and is super snug. I have never seen the Sheath pull away easily as you say but hey if you saw it for yourself I understand but honestly I’d be more confident with a drop and the phone not slipping out with the Sheath vs Apple Silicone/Leather. By the way I’m a fan of both Apple cases and Caudabe Sheath, they’re my 2 go to cases.

I’ve just received two sequoia green leather cases ordered from Apple site and the green is quite a bit darker on one than the other. The feel is slightly different as well. Is this normal?

Yes no two leathers will be identical. Some are smoother and denser and some more grainy and supple. The tones can be different as well. Sequoia green leather is such a dark color that even if you pick the lighter it’ll even darken from use regardless. Personally I think the grainier leathers are nicer than the smooth ones. Here’s a grainy Midnight leather I handpicked at Best Buy a while back since you can literally open the boxes and peek at them.
