I usually buy lots of cases for my iPhones but this year I've stuck with only one, the Apple leather in Sequoia Green since launch day on my 13 Pro Max. It's gotten some scuffs but still look alright and it's darkened quite a bit but you can still tell it's green color in daylight. For my 12 Pro Max I have more than 15 cases in either leather, silicon, TPU, aramid or plastic.

The thing that annoys me with the Apple leather case lately it is that the phone slides just a little out of the case in the bottom corner sometimes when I take it out of my pocket and that is a moment where I can easily have it fall out of my hand. It's just not a snug enough fit and I've read others having the same complaint. So I'm looking to buy some new cases for rotation.

First I'm wondering is how the Nomad Modern Leather Case for the 13's are this year. I've read som contradicting posts on here with some saying it has improved buttons and a more pinky friendly bottom than the previous itterations but then others say that's not true and it's still a bit flawed. So I'm not sure who to trust. I would like a leather case in the same design as the Apple one with leather both on the sides and back but with a little more protection. But it seems that most leather cases that add more protection have different materials as TPU on the sides and only leather on the backside from what I have found when browsing cases from Nomad, Mous, Otterbox, Rhinoshield etc.

I also remembered really enjoying the first version of the Phone Rebel case with the open sides I had on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and saw that the Flex case was in stock for iPhone 13 Pro Max so I just put in an order. It's meant as something different to put on my phone when I don't feel like rocking leather which I prefer 9 out of 10 times when it comes to iPhone cases. Only hope that EAP as kept up the quality I encountered in the first itteration of this case, I never ordered one for the iPhone 12 since the case with the open sides never seemed to be in stock when I was browsing.

Thanks for reminding me about the Flex series PhoneRebel cases man. I forgot they were getting more in this week. Just ordered one for my 13 ProMax. Looking forward to checking this one out as I never used any of his Gen 1 or 2 cases.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro sky blue. I’m using apples Magsafe clear case and I’m not a fan. First, it’s pretty slippery in my hand much of the time. Wondering if anyone can recommend a good clear case that is grippy on the sides and doesn’t have the white MagSafe circle.

Try the ESR. I got it for my son's iPhone 13 Pro and he loves it. Strong magnets, grippy enough without too much and not a lot of money.

I'm waiting for the Gen 3 Rebel to be available. Hopefully before the iPhone 15 is released

How much did shipping cost you? For me, more than the case itself.

Hence why I’ll wait it out for now.

Look forward to the pics.

Shipping was free. It said 5-7 business days for delivery which I am fine with. Assume you are not in the US since that option was not available for you?

Leather. The quality is not quite as good as Nomad but I prefer the fit and finish of the Apple case hands down. We'll see how my second attempt with Andar goes tomorrow; the first time I was not happy.
I ate my own words, I lasted with the silicone case for 4 days before just sending it back as it would pop off on the corners all the time and was a lint magnet.

On the plus side Amazon offered the difference on a golden brown leather case so I snapped it up and quite happy so far. It’ll never be as good as the old saddle brown cases but it’ll do.

Andar Aspen is the newest contribution to my leather addiction. Love the color. More thoughts/impressions in the patina thread.

UAG Metropolis LT in today. Very nice fitting and feeling case. It's made from a softer rubber TPU, Kevlar on the back feels so good and adds some nice grip. Also has Magsafe magnets in the back. Overall I'm really liking this case, much better than that slippery Mous.

I’ve read elsewhere that the back is very slick. Good to hear another opinion. How strong is the MagSafe for a car holder?

The sides are kind of slick but the back is pretty grippy, not Otterbox Defender Pro grippy but pretty decent. Don't have a Magsafe car holder but the magnets are pretty strong with the regular Magsafe charger and wallet.

I think I must get this lol. How are the buttons?

The buttons are fantastic but do have the little slits that can let in dust & dirt. The sides are smooth and kind of slick. It's made of a softer rubber like material, not the harder material like the Monarch, Pathfinder, Plasma ETC. I read in some reviews of the Kevlar fraying on the edges but mine seems nice and tight. I've only had the case for a few hours but will report back later and let you know of any other faults I find.

Also, this case does not add much bulk to the phone and fits nice & tight (no saggy bottom) ?

How’s the fit on this? Does the tpu pull away easily?

No, it's pretty tight considering the softer rubber construction. Sure, it will pull out some if you are trying hard enough but it's not that bad at all. My OCD is pretty high when it comes to cases, not that bad on this one.
