I pretty much agree with his list though I’d drop the Sheath behind the Synthesis, bump the Mous up to #2, and move the Phone Rebel to #1. My problem with the Sheath is the MagSafe indentation on the back (you can even see it in the video). Hoping that’s something Caudabe corrects as it’s a good case otherwise. All of these companies need to work on quality control.

Is the black Sheath the only one with this problem or is it widespread across all colors?

Had 2 of them and sold them off before I even used them very much  I don't recall the indentation on either of them though.
On mine the indentations were very subtle at first but became more obvious with repeated charging on a Belkin MagSafe charger. It was almost as if the heat deformed the plastic.

thoughts on the nomad sport and MagSafe strength and scratches?
Scratches are my concern as well. My phone usually shares a pocket with my Keys, a random screwdriver, maybe some pliers, and sometimes a utility knife.

A lot of the reviews on namads website mention scratches even from the magsafe chargers, so I'm a bit leary, will still probably try it though.

Anyone tried the ESR clear case and the Spigen clear case? Which is better?
I would say ESR.

This is the one I have. The only problem with most clear cases the ESR ones included is that they yellow over time. That said they’re fairly cheap so replacing them is not that big a deal.

Thanks for the video share, Caudabe has a new version of the Sheath and Synthesis where the buttons are fixed and the magnet indention is fixed as well.

I get the new updated Sheath today and I’ll send pics. Buttons are a little wider.
You done did it again, Tee. Tempting me to order the Sheath…

Did they mention if they fixed the issue with the alignment magnet popping out the synthesis? Thanks in advance.

Interesting. Are they on general sale now?

How do we know if we are getting the new version when ordering on the site?

Glad they're attempting to get the problems sorted, but it's kind of a slap in the face having to purchase a button cutout version, then a version with the action button, (granted it was pretty much free, just pay shipping) then them offering a 30% off discount because of issues they were already having with CS, etc. And now having to purchase ANOTHER case because of MagSafe, and button issues. All of it just seems very messy this year.

Amen to that.

Very messy, but glad I wasn’t part of it. And if/when I pull the trigger on the Sheath, I should get a primo case.
I just can’t understand the big ole gaping that they call speaker cut outs. The modern leather might be the most comfortable case if it had better cut outs.
Yep! The cut outs should be asymmetrical.

I just got a gray synthesis a couple weeks ago and months ago they mentioned they’d work on that issue and have it completely revised by November and the MagSafe magnets inside the case are solid. I’ve popped out the case multiple times. So definitely seems fixed as they said it would be. That was my only issue with the synthesis now I absolutely love it

Yeah, it’s been a rough one for Caudabe. I only give them a pass because they’ve been very good in years past.

A rough one for sure. I guess I'm just a bit disappointed this year solely because they've been so solid in the past, in my opinion feels like they've taken 1 step forward but 2 steps back.

Out and about with frosty...nothing for me is beating this case at the moment

Like many here, I've also been a huge Caudabe buyer for many years. One thing that's bothered me more this year than I thought it would, aside from the button issues, is the price. They've obviously increased the price a bit (I'm aware that coupon codes generally exist for them, but still, the principle of it) over time. At this point, we are still looking at a basic TPU/Poly blend case (Sheath) with a liner and MagSafe for $40. When you make that jump to the $49 mark, cases improve in quality and features. I wish the Sheath was priced at $35 or even $30.

I've never used the Phone Rebel cases, but I have always been aware of them. I decided to try them out about a week ago after feeling indifferent about the Sheath for a bunch of weeks. This case is phenomenal. If anything, I'd make it slightly more minimal. But it's surprising that there's only a $10 difference.
