Yup. At this point, if it doesn't move by early next week, I'm just going to pursue a refund.
With my recent experiences, the universe is seemingly saying no more phone cases (but didn't say anything about watch bands - although any case aficionado in this thread is complete amateur hour compared to the watch band threads. Those people are super hardcore collectors/hoarders
). I only bought four bands this past week - finally upgraded my S6 to a Ultra 2 - and that's pretty much it for me.
Give Frosty the same grip as his brother Gen then I’ll get Frosty back.I need to break ole Frosty out
I am the opposite haha...Didn't you say you didn't like the grip of the Synthesis? It's the same harsh feeling.
I got the fine woven blue for my i15pm. Compared against the silicone and I took the plunge. I like it.
Oh no LOVED the Synthesis grip.
I think the spikes of the Frosty make it slippery for me same as the Mous Limitless bumps.
Ahh gotcha, yes for you it would be perfect. The non frosty grip reminds me of the Synthesis. Too harsh and extreme for me needs.
It's still a keeper though and I'll use it as my rugged case option
With the Synthesis matrix grips my fingers wouldn’t move because like sand paper, lots of traction even though matrix was hard.
With the Frosty the spikes too high and the spikes being hard rubber didn’t give me traction. I bet if the spikes were rubbery like a softer compound it might work.
The Schpeegen Mag has no matrix or spike proteingrip but is soft compound that provides traction. If I squeeze the bumper part there’s definitely some give and sort of squishy.
It’s like I prefer the traction to be more close to the case.
This is exactly why I avoid the watch band threads (all of them at this point, especially the “discounts” thread). It’s how I’ve ended up with 47 official Apple bands of all different flavors and countless more third-party bands. I finally had to say enough.
That one dude, aptly using the screen name “a thousand bands” blows my mind. He even posts pictures of clothing that matches his bands. I can’t imagine how much money he’s invested in bands over the years. He probably has every band in every color ever released.
And there are a few that have hookups and get pre-production bands that have different colors that were never released. Again, just tons of money involved.
I can’t imagine what they’ll do if Apple changes the way bands attach as has been rumored for the 10th anniversary watch next year. Their collections will eventually become useless.
Here’s a closeup of the Schpeegen Mag bumper. As you will see it’s sort of porous and not rock solid hard like the Frosty bumper. Something like this compound gives me good traction without matrix or spike grips.

I’m not an aramid fan. But the Frosty really knocked my socks off, that’s how good it was. Didn’t feel heavy even a little bit. Quality top notch. But an important factor for me is grip and I found it to slippery. What a shame.
Does Amazon shipping suck for anyone else lately?
Ordered a PR Frosted on Thursday with 2-day Prime shipping to be delivered today. Kept checking it throughout today and it never went out for delivery. Now it says it’s delayed and if I don’t receive it by Monday, to come back Tuesday for a refund.
I’ve had this happen multiple times lately with Prime 2-day shipping. And now I’m trying to figure out what I’m paying them for. Because I could get the same crappy shipping without paying for Prime.

Sometimes Prime doesn’t mean 2 day. Yes sometimes 2 day prime and orders get delayed but it’s not very common from my experience. Amazon is a well oiled logistical machine.
When I ordered my Frosty it came a day earlier. It was Prime but wasn’t 2 day prime.
We do so much with Amazon paying for Prime is still worth it.

It's the Christmas season. Shipping is going to be delayed for almost everyone around this time.
Probably just backlog from all the holiday orders.
The harsh grips compared to frosty I seem to be adjusting to. Not too bad I must admit. Both this and frosty will be in heavy rotation. I have some matte black and matte silver components coming next week. This case will be all blacked out soon.

Are the spikes on the Gen5 a softer compound than the Frosty?
No the opposite. Much firmer and more stiff compared to frosty. If grip was the issue for you with frosty, you'd definitely enjoy the grip on the aramid gen5
