The ability to turn off the left swipe to activate the camera. Why do we have both the camera button on the Lock Screen and the swipe gesture? I’ve accidentally launched the camera app by swiping incorrectly. It’s an even bigger issue for my mom with essential tremors. Let users turn that swipe for the camera off. Let users decide what quick controls we want. Why is it the flashlight and camera? Why not a a calculator and camera or calculator and flashlight or whatever I want it to be?

Yeah what ever happened to APP Clips? And are we now at the point with iOS where feature bloat is upon us
I’ve recently encountered many good app clip uses with ordering and paying at restaurants. Contactless options that I didn’t know about but didn’t have to download a full app for. Great implementation.

On topic, I’d drop whatever the name is for the far left hand page of the iOS home screen. With widgets on main pages I find it useless. Keep it on the Lock Screen, fine.

I’d also put the system prefs in alphabetical order, though that may be more of a feature request.

How about this: when I update to 15.2.2, could you please just do the thing and not walk me through 17 screens of "Welcome! Please upgrade to 2-Factor Authentication! No, really, please update that iPad that never leaves your house to stronger security!" Just freakin' update the patchwork and start like normal.

Oh, and where the notifications screen says "press home to open", come on, that is for the Lock Screen, clean the thing up, folks.

Of course, everyone would remove features, he/she don't use. Wonder how iOS would look like, if Apple is removing every feature one single person isn't using? 😆
It would be my kind of OS. I always go for the most bare bones Android ROM I can find and then add the features I use.
This ain't for everyone, since few people know exactly what they want out of their phone. Sometimes you discover a time saving feature you never thought you would ever need.

Edit: on topic, I would remove the upgrade nagging. Every 2 weeks I get the upgrade to the latest OS nag. I didn't want to upgrade 2 weeks ago, nor the 2 weeks before that... ad nauseam. I don't want to upgrade.

The ability to post on the MacRumors forums. It would remove noise - such as this useless comment.
ah, macrumors forums. another 'why can't things be the way i think they should be' thread... as if features and options should be removed because 1,or 7 people on this forum don't like that feature or option.

there are how many ios users out there? there's just no way to make everyone happy. so personally, i make the best of what there is, enjoy the hell out of my iphone (and use it constructively, too)... and get on with my actual life (and yes, post way too often here as well)... 🤣

Why would I want to remove features? I'm not that narcissistic that I would want a feature removed simply because I don't like it or use it.

App Clips... I have yet to see the usefulness of them.

I encounter them all the time. A lot of local resturants and chains have partnered with Yelp so I'll often see them pop up in my Siri Suggestions widget (Panera Bread is close to my work and they use one, so sometimes I'll order it using the app clip instead of needing the whole app on my phone).

Exxon has an app clip tag using NFC and the QR code at all their pumps across the US which I use quite often.

I get them with TikToks that my friends and family send me so I can see them in full screen without needing the app installed or using their awful website.

I use Parcel to track packages, and if I send something to someone, I can send them an app clip that shows them Parcel's layout and map for the tracking number.

We don't have Spin scooters where I live, but a gaming friend of mine who's recently joined the military and is stationed at a base has them, and they can use an App Clip to rent a scooter without even needing to make an account with Spin (just signs in With Apple).

I'd be very, very disappointed if they removed app clips. They aren't something I encounter every single day, but I've found them super useful.

Scanned a receipt at a restaurant recently that opened some kind of App Clip to check out. It was cleaner than some of the website-based QR codes I’ve used at other restaurants to pay, the first time I’ve ever seen one though.

App Library is #1. But beyond that, lots of good ones here: Memoji, iMessage apps, iMessage stickers, app clips, shortcuts.

I’d get rid of all remote assistance features. Definitely can be misused. Also Memoji. Silly and no fun.
The most important feature that I want to remove actually, is Siri. I absolutely despise the future of integrating personal lives into various virtual voice assistants. Even today, I can’t mix languages when initiating Siri requests. For example, I can’t “hey Siri, play シグナル”.

Night Shift. Why I'd want to have my screen so yellow-ish? If my eyes are tired, Dark mode is there for that.

For all of you who say memojis, stickers etc, you don't text a lot of younger/average people eh? They use tons of them in iMessage conversations and I must say I like it, it makes the conversation way more "alive" and personal than just bland texts.

Remember when the Apple Watch launched and they kept going on about digital touch? “You can send your heartbeat to another Apple Watch user”

🤮

its still lurking in iMessage but thankfully it’s less prevalent than when it launched

To be fair, it'd be pretty hard to get any virtual assistant to recognize multiple spoken languages in the manner you mention.
More frustrating for me is Siri's inability to switch spoken languages on the fly, i.e., when reading aloud messages written in other languages over AirPods. Seems like it'd be a much easier problem to fix.

Doubt both are easy to fix, and both problems are related to each other. Solving announcing issue should provide some clues on recognising requests formed with multiple languages.
