I'm currently on a base model iPhone 11. Battery capacity sitting at "Service" with 76% and it starts to show, but otherwise still satisfied.

I'm feeling the iPhone 14 will just be a really minor improvement compared to the iPhone 13, so I most likely wait one more year. The only question that remains is if the iPhone 14 Pro (which is probably just an early iPhone 15) is attractive enough to have me upgrade early.

I'm debating between the 14 Pro and 14 PM. I currently have the 12 Pro, and wasn't planning on upgrading, but I can't deal with this crappy battery life any longer. I'm only wondering if I will regret going bigger and heavier with the PM....

I am on the 11 Pro at the moment but once the 14 is released, I am hoping to see some 13 Pro's on the Apple Refurb Store and will probably go down that route if there is a decent price difference.

Sounds fair… but just make sure you won’t miss that telephoto camera because the regular 14 will not have it.

Also… I just thought of something. The iPhone 14 (non pro) will use and have the exact display and notch, same chipset as the 13 pro max, just not a third camera, but the same wide & ultra wide cameras and not stainless. Makes me feel like Apple will be selling the iPhone 13 pro / pro max disguised as an iPhone 14. Same display and guts. Hmmm. Thoughts?
great points

I was checking Unidays>Apple for student discount yesterday, did they remove iPhones from it? Been long time since I ordered directly from apple so cant remember if they even offered a discount on iPhones. Thx

Looking to upgrade from 12 pro to 14 pro depending on how significant price increase there is

14 pro or 14 PM? 🤔 I currently have the iPhone 12 Pro pacific blue. I’m afraid the PM might be too big, but I think the pro is too small for reading newspapers and books. For travel the pro is better. I also don’t know what color to choose. A lot to think about 😂

yes exactly the issue I have..

I'm on the iPhone Upgrade Program and since there's no price difference for me going from 13 ProMax 1TB in Sierra Blue to 14 Pro Max 1TB in Deep Purple. It's so pretty!

Someone pointed out the max will be harder to interact with the dynamic island since you will want to click it more often… never thought of that.

I want to like the pro. But it’s so hard using it after using a max. Typing is harder for me I feel. Every time I use a pro phone it only lasts a day or so 🤷‍♂️

Got to decide quick but most likely Pro Max.

Using the dynamic island will be as hard as interacting with the Notification Center right now, or the control center. You can tap anywhere on the dynamic island to summon it.

I don't see any difference in using the island between max and pro... you would almost always use two hands anyways?

Getting the 14 Pro Max to upgrade my 13 Pro Max.
Also just got a Galaxy Z Fold4, my first Samsung. When folded it is thicker but more narrow than the iPhone. Unfolded it is quite large. It will be interesting to compare, especially with the optional pen on the Fold4.

yeah that is the big one right? seems large... are you going to keep one? will be curious.

Currently have the 13 Pro Max. I don’t know why but I’m leaning toward the regular 14. Love the big screen but want smaller device next time. Too often I get frustrated with the size of the Pro Max. I want a colorful phone this year and if the 14 Pro has boring colors I’ll try the regular 14.
but phone will be slower, screen now what you are used to :)

Folded it is pretty convenient, like the candy bar phones of years ago. For watching videos, the large unfolded screen is nice. In looking at the Samsung forums, one possible issue is the aspect ratio of the screen cuts out some of the scenes. Will have to examine that and see if there an option to reduce the size of the playback to preserve the entire scenes.

Plan on keeping both. Have no intention of leaving the Apple ecosystem, but was curious to play with a different form factor, Android, etc. Kind of an expensive gadget, though.

I’m honestly tempted to grab the Pro Max this year especially with the lithography change to 4 NM. Would be huge jump from 10 NM in the A11.

But I feel like iPhone 15 is gonna be the one that introduces USB C and A17 at 3NM which would be another huge leap in performance.

iPhone 14 feels like iPhone 11 going on to 12. I could of course hand it down to one of my siblings.

My recent History when there have been size options:

  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone 6S Plus
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro
I thought the Pro Max was too big to carry around for every day life but I REALLY miss the bigger screen since swapping to the Pro. One handed use is really important but think I will try the larger size again, it seems to be the most popular model so want to try it again.

I went to the store and held the Pro Max in my hand and it did feel smaller than the old Max sizes to me, which is likely just a placebo effect. I am using the official Apple Leather Case on my 12 Pro and I compared the size and it is almost as wide as the Pro Max with the case on, only a few CM smaller so I will buy a Peel Case and just go with the Pro Max this round.

This is a great point but even when I try to reach around the location right now on my 12 Pro holding it normally from the bottom, it is a stretch to do it via my thumb, barely reaches. Thinking it is going to be a "slide the hand up the phone" one-hander anyways...
