Have to go with the OG, because it was totally different than anything that myself or anyone else had seen before. In that sense, it was most "mind blowing" of them all.

I'm in the minority, but I dislike the design of the 4/4s/5/5s/SE when compared to all the others. Too square.

3G/3GS was easiest to hold and interact with.

iPhone 6 - present are the most aesthetically pleasing.

Well, you’ve asked the question and it’s not horiffically off topic, so I don’t see a problem ;) Even considering the ‘magic’ factor I really didn’t personally get it until the 4 - that was the first iPhone that seriously grabbed my attention as a potential upgrade.

The first iteration may have had certifiably the best mobile browser, but 2G made that all but worthless. It’s camera was laughable - struggling to produce grainy VGA snaps when the best of the competition could do VGA video at 30 FPS - and take 5MP stills! The 3G/S and even the 2G to some extent weren’t particularly captivating design wise either - big screen? All well and good with little to do on it! Kinda chunky (and latterly plastic) bodies that didn’t slide or flip or anything? Nothing really to grab the attention. iOS at that point was as barebones as you could imagine, etc etc. Basically my overall point is that the 4 was where iPhone as we know it was founded, everything before that is really rose tinted specs on an improving but ultimately thoroughly mediocre product.

So you skipped the first three? My dad had the 3G (first one available here) and later the 3GS and they were absolutely incredible, especially coming from a dumb phone. I remember looking at it from the side, admiring how thin it was.

But going back further to the original model, I remember watching the keynote and saving the pictures to my computer. I drooled all over it. Nowhere in my mind did I ever consider specs; this was a new kind of device and seemed magical to me.

Anyway, I was twelve at the time. :D

I was expecting the 5 to win this, but looks like the 4 gets it. Can't believe the X beat the 5.

I was wowed by the 5 because it had a bigger screen than the 4, yet it was thinner and lighter. I remember the first time I held one, I went "wow, can't believe how light this is". I was worried about the aluminum back being less durable than the 4's glass, but those were unfounded.

Original iPhone - because there was nothing else quite like it at the time.
iPhone 4 - still my overall favourite iPhone, nicest looking, favourite software era too (my iPhone 4 remains on iOS 5.1.1 to this day though also SIM-less and in Airplane mode! It’s basically an iPod now).
iPhone SE - packed all the power of the 6S into the small size of the 5 at a sensible price. The way things are looking, it will probably remain my current iPhone until it’s not safe online/supported anymore.

All the others were either iterative tweaks (3G, S models... ) or the huge phablets we have now that to me are much less impressive and have prices ranging from a bit pricey to ludicrous.

The 4, followed by the XS Max, since it's the closest to an iPad experience on an iPhone I've experienced cause of the resolution housed inside of it.

No, indeed the 6+ was my first iPhone, I stuck it out with Nokia even into the WP wilderness as I really like their hardware (actually considering a 9 and it’s 5 camera goodness when it’s launched). The 4/s was the first iPhone I wasn’t entirely meh about, but I ultimately ended up getting a Nokia N8 and that’s probably the favourite phone I’ve owned, the camera is still amazing by today’s standards!

My first firsthand experience was with my friends 3G and I was still underwhelmed compared to my N95, but interested enough to get an iPod touch to play with (my first Apple device) when Nokia went over to WP I almost didn’t follow them and considered a 5 but ultimately ended up sticking with them until getting the 6 after MS basically EOLd WP from under our feet :/

I was only 11 (and a half :D) in January 2007 myself!

I would say that the 4 and the 4S were my favourite designs. They're iconic. That's what pops up into my mind when I think about iPhones.

I do have a guilty pleasure though. I do actually love the 6 and 6s design, especially the S version due to getting rid of the FCC logos.

4, first retina screen Iphone, with mature design and first modern Iphone with iterative upgrades since then.
X, first Iphone with near edge to edge screen and OLED. Exactly what I wanted and I can wait a while for an upgrade till Apple offers a compelling new feature.

How is the first-generation iPhone not in the lead?!

Though I did end up voting for all of them

The 6/6S was the ugliest iPhone with those antennas lines, not sure what apple was thinking there.

I never found the anntena lines distractions. However, If you think about it, most consumers keep their phones in cases, so you would never see the anntena Bands anyways, as they are on the back of the phone.

I go caseless, so for me it was ugly. The 8 design is beautiful imo, the perfected version.

iPhone X blew my mind with that gigantic unibrow, and then WWDC blew my mind again with how we are not supposed to "hide the notch" as if that gigantic unibrow is actually pretty or useful, talk about lipstick on a pig.
mind blown.

The iPhone 4 had a huge impact on me. It looked sexy as hell. It was also my first iphone. I had just got my first reat cellphone 30 days before the first iPhone came out so I had to wait 2 years to get an iPhone. That sucked.

Original, obviously. It broke new ground. The 3g and 3GS were just derivative works.

The 4 brought a whole new design to the table and that earns it a spot. The 5/5S/SE were just developments of it.

The 6/6S/7/8 and + versions of those were ugly and I don’t really like any of them with the exception of the jet black 7.

The X is similar to the 4 in that it is obviously a new beginning for the design language.

So, original, 4 and X!

The iPhone 4 design was the most mind blowing iPhone. The most unintuitive, backwards design is the iPhone X series. A notch and homebuttonless... not worth it.

And why do people not vote for the original iPhone?
I voted for the original because I remember the terrible user experience pre-iPhone.

Unlocking, zooming, scrolling, 3-way calling, voicemail, music, etc. iPhone made them effortless. Blew the competition away.
