My first iPhone was the 5 and it was just too small for me. My favorite was the 8. It was such a comfortable size to hold and use and I loved the gold color that year. I switched to the X and now XS because of the larger screen which is easier for my old eyes. I still don't like the weight of it, but love that great OLED display.

iPhone 4 due to the squared design. Much easier to hold than the bars of soap they have now

This poll is an eye opener for me. I have always thought of the 5/5s/SE as the best design from Apple.

But this poll shows 4/4s leading by a far margin, followed by (gasp!) X/XS.

I like the black matte iPhone 7 most. It's very uniform and I like the single rear camera, not a fan of the dual and triple cams of newer phones.

Easy answer, the iPhone 4 blew my mind. Beautifully designed, and with that retina screen, front and rear HD cameras...I upgraded from my iPhone 3G immediately.

I liked the 4 design. Handy and pocketable. The 8+ is a great design which leads nicely into Xs Max but as I was selling my 8+ every time I picked it up I thought wow this is great why did I buy the Xs Max again haha

Have just got an Xr coming from an 8. Love the new phone but have been using my backup 4S with my old sim in while waiting for my number to transfer....

Wow, brings back the memories, perfect fit in the hand, premium build at the time. Considering the android and Blackberry competitors back then, 4s gets my vote.

4 was a design classic, functionally and physically.

Leaps and bounds from the plastic oblongs of scorn that came before it.

iPhone SE blew my mind the most, but not until I "downgraded" from the iPhone X and 8. Only then I realized that I haven't downgraded at all and that the SE is capable of everything I did on my X. SE is the most underrated phone of the decade. Even Apple Pay works, which I use almost daily while shopping for groceries, etc.

First one for sure, I was using the king of phones at the time (N95) and even though on a technical note the N95 was far superior, (MMS, loadable apps, removable battery and memory etc), the iPhones interface was a real eye opener... then the 4 to a lesser degree

I picked two. First the original iPhone, revolutionary in every way, completely redefined smart phones and the category. The other was the iPhone 4, the original retina display completely blew me away and it was a great design.

XS won the award for best small smartphone in 2018. XR was runner up for longest battery life.
