Just finished binging the most current season of Vikings.

While I don't expect there to be any accuracy, it is an interesting look at a historical culture that I have no insight on. I won't give any spoilers but found my interest waning during the last season with the introduction of new characters and departure of some old ones.

Castlevania season 4 is out. I can’t believe it’s been almost 35 years since I’ve played the original game for the first time. Been hooked ever since.

I'm still watching Star Trek Enterprise, but I really want to catch up on some of these series I've missed over the last 20 years that are very critical acclaimed. That includes shows like The Wire, Sorpranos, (I tried to like Game of Thrones but it wasn't for me) Mad Men, and the show I started last night, Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad. Really really enjoyed that series. After you finish it you must watch Better Call Saul. You will know why once you get a bit further along in Breaking Bad.

If you have not tried Black List starring James Spader I highly recommend you give it a go.

Sounds like some great shows ahead of you. I liked BB at the beginning especially, Saul was boredom to me. Loved Sopranos, GOT and Mad Men too.

I e been trying to find new shows but it’s hard.

I gave up on Handmaids Tale before the start of the new season. The first was remarkable but then it’s very bad. I couldn’t stand it, more violence, after excision, cutting finger, enucleation…I was just fed up. The stupid June in big first shot in front of the camera ENOUGH. My goldfish Bob has more expressions than her. She is so exasperating.

So I’m trying something new: Made for Love. Why that actress has only 2 facial expression? She looks like a fish with her big eyes. I watched 2 episodes so far, maybe they will hire a scenarist at one point.

I still watching Good Girls. The first season was great but now…ahem. Too many family dramas. And I would rename the show ?‍♂️ Girls.

Then there is the new season of Mythic Quest. It’s fun, I like it. My favorite character is Brad, so nice what he says about Battle Royale. I like the treatment of the 2 lesbians, it’s better than all these stupid Netflix shows full of tokenism & SJW. We have it here too but it’s a bit sarcastic so it’s fresh!

Still looking for something great.

In 2017, that was my top 20:

  1. Banshee
  2. Game of Thrones
  3. Breaking Bad
  4. FARGO
  5. The Night Of
  6. American Crime History: The People vs OJ Simpson
  7. Narcos
  8. Billions
  9. Bosch
  10. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
  11. Luther
  12. Peaky Blinders
  13. People of Earth
  14. Ray Donovan
  15. Silicon Valley
  16. The Wrong Mans
  17. True Detective (season 1 only)
  18. Westworld
  19. Eastbound and Down
  20. The Brink
I’d like to add Chernobyl & The Boys. Oh I forgot Succession, sorry!

X-Files is one of the most iconic tv series in history but I never got to watch it, does it still hold its quality or turned cheesy by today's standard?

I am on E2 , I know shows need time to develop, but doesn't look that interesting to watch.

Also, is it one of those shows that have exact repetitive formula for each episode? I hate those.

Peaky Blinders sucks because its a carbon copy of The Boardwalk Empire. If you didn't watch that show, you would think Peaky Blinders is one of the greatest shows ever.

Definitely needs a few episodes to build it up. It’s going to improve as the seasons go.

For me, it had a lot of hit and miss episodes.

I finished Season 1 of Breaking Bad last night. That was a great first season, and it's showing how you can do character development on a limited number of episodes. Each episode has done a great job meeting the characters and showing Walt's transformation, to the point where what he did in the penultimate episode of the season was bad ass. I have to say though I'm not entirely a fan of Skyler yet. The episode with the Intervention kind of turned me off from her. It seems like she wants to make all the decisions for Walt, and Walt's response of this was the first time he's had to make a decision was spot on.

Started as "monster of the week" show and then went down the "just add more conspiracy and nonsense" rabbit hole.

-> total trash even 25 years ago
