Agreed about the writing. I just think the people who hands Star Wars are in probably grew up with it and think they know it and want to push things their own way, and it becomes a mess (Last Jedi). Just a guess.
It's just money at this point. Disney is going to milk it until it dies a slow and painful death. And as long as they have people visiting their Star Wars hotels for $10k+ per night, they won't stop. The whole franchise went south. The best they could do is revive the animates series Clone Wars or Rebels with the old show runners in charge.
The only new Star Wars which was kinda close was Rouge One, it was decent.
Out of the new movies, yes, that was the best one by far.

I started the new season of The Boys and yeah it’s great. Lots of blood and I still love Antony Starr although I miss Banshee so much. In The Boys he is very magnetic.

^^Watched the last Stranger Things last night!! It was excellent! The only S4 episode I wasn't crazy about was E1. Didn't even seem like Stranger Things until the last 5 minutes. But then it got better and better!! Looking forward to the next release of E8 on July 1.

Forbes report that episode 8 will be 1 hour and 25 minutes whereas episode 9 – the season finale – will cap in at a colossal 2 hours and 30 minutes.

So the next two episodes will be an incredible 3 hours and 55 minutes!!!

Started Cold Case (not Cold Case Files) about Philly PD cold case investigations. Earlier I was watching Cold Squad (Canadian) but Cold Case is much better IMHO. I love the transitions between characters in current times and at the time of the murder, and the imaginative and touching endings.

It’s the first mini series I’ve watched where I can’t wait every episode. So many of my friends watched the first ever episode and gave up, whereas I kept saying all these years to keep up with it as it gets so much better. They are now trying to catch up lol. My wife is angry we have to wait 3 weeks to see the last episodes too lol.

Maybe I'll finally get around to watching Stranger Things.

The problem is... there's simply too much good television these days! Who has the time?

:p

The first five minutes are freaking hilarious! They did it... they actually pulled it off! I was freaking dying when he sneezed.

This show is freaking wild and I can't get enough of it. Homelander is by far my favorite. You never know what this dude is going to do.

Scares the hell out of me!

Stranger Things - It took me 4 episodes to finally agree that I like this new season. I don't want to spoil it but I will say I didn't like the direction it took off in...

The boys is unbelievably gory , tbh I think it’s a bit ott . Exploding heads and stuff 🤮

The guy playing home lander is a superb actor , just uses his eyes to convey the menace within …..

Oh it is way over the top... no doubt about it. IF you are so inclined, the books are even further! Garth Ennis is a mad man (In a good way!) and he holds nothing back in the comics.

I was on the fence of Stranger Things too this season... It took me till the fourth episode also. They did find their legs and started to run with what I felt made Stranger Things a great show. I could have done without the Russian plot line, but hey, we did get to see a little mayhem from that story line.

Just saw the teaser trailer of the new Netflix series "The Sandman".
Looks like something I'll be binging on from August the 5th onwards ;-)

Yeah I am not sure how the whole Russian thing fits into the over all story, other then the being the 80's cold war etc, and or giving these characters more of a story arc. But if the latter it's kinda distracting because it worked better when they were supporting the kids not doing their own thing. Hopefully they will tie it together like they did with the last episode of S4, which was well done but kinda predictable.

The Cold War was pretty prevalent back in the day. So... I think it fits and is pretty thematic and adds a bit of terror/fear?

Gotta be honest I hated season 4 until after episode 4.

I cannot stand Hellraiser/Friday the 13th types of films.

Ep 4 turned it around for me.

HBOMax - Irma Vep. - a disillusioned movie star travels to France to star in a remake of the classic silent film "Les Vampires".

Westworld is returning to HBOMax in late June - looking forward to the new episodes.
