Finished watching a long Chinese drama series at "vicki.com" titled, The Rebel Princess. This is quite a good show, and best of all, has a happy ending unlike lost of the Asian shows I have watched.

By the way, "Love Like The Galaxy" is a great Asian show that has a happy ending, too. Even my wife enjoyed watching its 56 episodes, which is a rarity since she is more into Star Trek, Fringe, and shows like that. :)

I just realized that I had written "pappy" instead of "happy" in my previous post. Anyway, in a lot of Asian martial arts and war dramas, which usually have a great number of episodes, the protagonists end sacrificing themselves for the country, emperor, leaving behind their loved ones...heartbroken. This happens even in shows of fantasy.

I just don't enjoy dramas where the good guys/girls spend a lifetime of misery and then die in misery at the end. In the two shows I mentioned above, the good guys and girls have to overcome a great number of obstacles (misery), but are rewarded with happiness at the end. Yes, I do enjoy happy endings which should be most common with writers of fantasy :)

HotD is crushing it so far. Loving the show and getting back in to the GoT universe.

Kinda the opposite for me. Couldn’t get into it. All these prequels desperately trying to recapture the magic. So many other books to draw from that are just as good or better without having to resort to fan fiction basically. Oh well.

I haven’t gotten that impression and I’d say you’re in the minority.

Agree... while the "lone battle" scene if you will was something one might see in a video game, the overall feel of that scene and the episode as a whole was great! I am glad to see they moved out of the "counsel" room and have shown us that, yes the universe is a little bigger, which we already knew, but I am glad they are now showing us this too!

We are digging it and so far, unless something goes drastically wrong, we are in!

Just a blank page. Can't get rid of the blog part ...

Try this home page:

I pay a tad under $5.00 per month. Decided to stay in this cheaper plan instead of the "Plus," but I believe the Plus plan still quite cheap. You can download the Rakuten Viki free app at the Apple App Store. If you have an Apple TV, then you can download and install it directly into the Apple TV.

That said, I don't watch movies or any shows from Apple using my Apple TV. I just have a Netflix, and Rakuten Viki apps in my Apple TV. But I watch more shows (90%) on "Viki" than Netflix, because it seems that movies and other shows made in the US and the West in general... are too politically correct, and the overt sex scenes are everywhere.

By the way, I don't have any problem with sex scenes if the main subject in the movie is sex. But lest say that I am watching a movie such as "The Bodyguard," I want to see a bodyguard doing his or her work or "body guarding," not just having sex in every episode with his or her client. In such a movie I expect to see lots of action in an effort to keeping the client safe. If it happens that he or she has some intimacy with the client, that's ok as long it does not distract from the main subject. However, love, sex, and so on can be implied, or even covert to some point. Now, if I am watching a movie where the main subject is sex, then that's what I prefer to "see" at the moment, not just a bodyguard "body-guarding." Maybe I am too picky?

Just started watching Alex Rider after recently finding out about it. I really enjoyed the novels as a child, and I think attempts to bring the stories to the screen died after the disastrous movie adaptation. But the producers have done a good job of making the show more serious with great cinematography, music, and acting.

Meh I wouldn't put to much faith in reviews. They have been known to be manipulated. Look what is happening with Rings of Power, Tolkien snobs are review bombing it.

Ya, you’d expect the same from GoT season 8 mouth breathers who were done with it forever.

But they all shut up after HotD.

You have to be a GoT fan to watch the show??
Always new viewers to cater to...
Single stats or reviews don't quantify the quality of a show.

1. Sequels/Prequels don’t break records without existing fans.

2. I didn’t show you a single review. I showed you 120,000.

I'm almost through the first season of Mad Men. I've seen it before when it first came out. Then I thought it big on style and short on substance. Sorry to say my opinion hasn't changed. It seems like a glorified soap opera to me.

Watching the second season How To With John Wilson after finishing the first. This is great. So charming in an aw shucks kinda way.

Finished The Resort. This was quite decent.

Tried The Sandman. Not for me. This is one for our special friends.

Finished Animal Kingdom. I'd describe this as an action soap. Loved it.

House of the Dragon ? A bit meh I thought.

If you enjoy fantasy "a la China style" with a happy ending, Netflix's airing of "Love Between Fairy and Devil" is quite good. I finished watching it a "Viki" this week and was surprised about Netflix releasing it this week. Binging won't be possible at Netflix until all the episodes are aired, but doable if you watch it at Viki. Only 10 episodes are available this week.
