So guilty! Thank god I'm not the only one. My mom often smiles when she catches me AGAIN, but never tells me how unnecessary it was to look at it again and again

I have to be on the home page when I lock it. If I lock it on another page, I unlock it, get to the home page, and then lock it again.

well i am guilty...i just swipe through, maybe check a app...play bowman or something...

the iphone is new to me still...had it a couple of months now...but its still a neat gadget to me =)

Maybe it's just out of habit by now, but I've owned an iPhone since they first came out...and I use to just check my email, check for an sms badge because I might have accidentally closed out the preview on the lock screen earlier and just forgot, or a voicemail and call under the same circumstances...and anything else worth checking my iPhone for.
But where I'm going with this is now I find myself just randomly unlocking my iPhone just for the sake of unlocking it only to lock it back again. At the same time, I may just flip through the different pages of apps I have for no intended reason only to once again lock it. Maybe it helps take my mind off of the walk to my car or the long wait in line at the grocery store.
Anyways, has anyone else caught themselves doing this before or am I in a league of my own?

Hello, my names is rcarranza and I have an iPhone addiction! Who doesn't do this is a better question. ;)

guilty, unlock then flick through a few pages of apps, realise what the hell am I doing, then lock it again. :D

I do this too. No idea why. I just do

Oh yea I'm guilty of it. I dunno why I do it...must be the radiation from the iPhone. Unlock...slide through pages...back to home...lock.

I do exactly that. Even if I just go downstairs to get a drink, and my iPhone is on the desk next to me I'll pick it up and put it in my pocket... even if I'm only going to be 2 minutes tops. This thing controls my life!! but i'm not complaining

somewhat guilty. I always have my phone on vibrate because I work in a hospital and I'm often in sensitive areas. I never feel my text messages so I check my phone every so often mostly to no avail.

my wallpaper is the text "....nope, still no messages" :(

I used to check my email every 5-10 minutes. Then I got the Pushmail app which sends email notifications, problem solved. Now I check for app updates every 5-10 minutes.

Guilty!

I did it with my Palm Treo, too, but not nearly as often. And standing in lines is a big trigger for me.

same for me!!

But it's way more shiny now with the iPhone. When I unlock it, I just flick through pages (I LOVE it, don't know why :p). Or I just look at the clock what time is it and then it comes to my mind that I am wearing a wristwatch!

I don't know, I can not just do nothing if it's boring.

We should meet up and do a self help group or something :D

I do the same thing, usually unconciously. I'll usually open the Mail app to check for new messages quickly or something when I do it though, or type something random like "Apple" into Spotlight.

Did this with both my 3GS and my previous Nokia phone.

It's just habbit, or to do something with your hands when walking or standing around.

Same here. I alway look to see what signal I have as I can go from full bars to no service in an instant.
