Done downloading.

I'm cleaning up (at work, it's hectic since I took yesterday off.) the system and will do an upgrade.

----------

3.34 GB of 4.34 GB

Anyone else planning to test Internet Recovery with a blank HDD/SSD to see if it stuffs Mountain Lion or just old Lion on?

I will after I do the upgrade (doing it for fun). I like a clean install when I upgrade to a new(er) OS. I'll back everything up again and wipe it.

4.05GB of 4.34GB. I'm going to do the same but I will burn a DVD of ML before trying IR just in case :apple:

Gave up at 1:30am.
Set my alarm for 9, woke up at 5:30 for some reason.
Checked to see if it was out, 5 minutes late it was!
Strange...

Its all working now, just updated all my apps and everything is working just fine.

For those that let the mountain lion out the cage does anybody know if these titles still work: rage, quake 4, borderlands, mini ninjas, doom 3, tomb raider underworld, darkness 2

Strange, downloaded, started the install process. Got to the 5 minutes left mark and then the it jumped back to 20 minutes time remaining.

So close, yet so far.;)

I don't know how you guys can even think about sleeping knowing that this thing can drop any minute. Hell, I've been hitting the refresh button on the apple site like a madman in the hopes that they will release it in the UK time zone. At this point I'm embracing the fact that I am going to be up all night, I've already pounded 2 5 hour energies.

This is awesome. i can't believe the excitement.

Don't suppose you could completely wipe your disk and see if Internet Recovery puts a Lion Recovery partition or a Mountain Lion one :D

Do you not have an external drive you can use? Much easier and faster... But yes I am about 99 percent sure if you did upgrade then the recovery partition will be upgraded to ML..

Rather not go through the wait again lol.... :D

Done and booted up. It's Indexing like mad right now.

I tested VMWare Fusion 4 and it works perfectly.

I'm going to leave it alone for now and allow it to finish Indexing. Seems to be running pretty on my Macbook thus far.

do you find that it runs better on your Macbook than Lion? Lion ran quite badly on my macbook 7,1.

It does actually seem "snappier" and that's with a Sata 7200RPM drive. Loading google browser or even vmware, it seems to load the app a lot faster than it had before.

I'm happy thus far with the purchase and upgrade. I can't wait to get an SSD and clean install.

Well found the answer I was waiting for (and a few others)

Even AFTER upgrading to Mountain Lion, if you insert a completely brand new disk into your Mac and use internet recovery, it will put LION back on, not Mountain Lion.

I read somewhere that Internet Recovery will only put the OS on that the machine was shipped with at time of purchase.

Thank god I created a ML boot USB :D

P.S> I should add this is for a completely brand new disk only. Obviously, if the recovery partition still exists then it will put ML back on.
