well for those who prefer faceID Apple putting touchID on the iPhone wont remove the faceID it will still be there.

having both is better than 1.

and if both is present no one is forcing you to use both, you can choose either.

More likely they want to eliminate producing certain parts - home buttons and larger bezeled screen frames are effectively over on the iPad line. Use as many common parts, differentiate the Pro line from the Air line.

The real question is how much real estate the Air 4's Touch ID requires. There's tons of room inside an iPad. There's pretty much zero room inside an iPhone. They chose to produce their budget line phones with Face ID. There are no accidents. There must not be enough room to put that technology.

yeah seeing the next iPhone having fingerprint scanner on screen

the iPad home button/fingerprint scanner in the iPad Air might be used in other iPads too like the budget iPad and of course the iPad Mini rumoured to have the all screen/ipad pro design.

I just saw an article on another Apple site that said Prosser knows about two iPhone 13 prototypes with Touch ID under the screen. I’m not sure about linking to a different site so I’m not but it has the word more in it.
I held off between wanting Touch ID and not wanting the first generation 5G. I want the bugs worked out.

I prefer touch id but caved last year and got the XR. Now have 12 pro max and loving it
