I still use my Mac Plus with system 6.0.8 running off of my zip drive, and I like it just fine. You guys with your fast processors and over 1 megabyte of ram, you're all spoiled! ;)
For what do you use your Mac Plus, Phazotron?

12" Powerbook G4

'nuff said :)

Basically. That and a 2.0GHz G5 (October 2006), a 17" G5 iMac (late 2006) iPod U2, Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro, Bondi Blue iMac (x2) with Oregon Trail, and many many other machines that I work with at the job that just keep ticking including but not limited to a G4 Sawtooth running OS9, lamp shade G4 iMac, many Studio and Cinema displays and possible a soon to be ragged 17" PowerMac that has gone through hell and still works fine.

Ha, I was pulling everyone's leg. :D I don't use a Mac Plus, my current gear is shown in my sig.

I actually do own a Mac Plus, but it's been sitting in a box for a few years. That photo was taken back in 2000. I'm not sure if I still have a system disk for it or not. Someone gave it to me about 10 years ago and I'd mess around with it once in a blue moon, playing some old games. But that's about it.

I used to have a Performa 636 and PowerComputing PowerTower Pro but they have been sent to the local recycle place.

And just to stay on topic: my G3 iBook still works just fine, runs 10.4.11 OK, not too slowly. I use it to record lectures at school (I'm changing careers) with Audacity and a few other things, but my Intel iMac is my main machine.

My 12" PB 1.5 is still going strong. It is so portable and goes everywhere I go.

I just bought a Mini this week because I wanted Leopard and iLife '08. It is a little faster and I really, really like Stacks and Time Machine but my PB is simply irreplaceable. Having the Mini has made me realize that the PB is a wonderful machine.

At the coffee shop I see all these 17"ers and yeah, the screen is nice but man, who wants to carry around a 10 pound hunk of aluminum all day!

No, that will never do. I still have a half case of Wite-Out left.

Aha! The truth comes out! Wite-Out thinner solvent!

I use a 12" ever now and then and they are nice and portable, but don't hate on the 17"ers  they aren't 10 pounds (more like 6.8) and we get them for more than the screen. You look over and you will probably see Final Cut Pro or Aperture/Maya/Shake/InDesign/Dreamweaver/Avid open all at the same time.

If they aren't using the book for pro stuff take it from them.

I don't own anything in Apple's current lineup and I am perfectly happy with all of my computers since they do what I want them to do. I especially like my 12" powerbook.

I've been using my PB every day for the last 4 years. I still use my gen 4 ipod all the time too. Only reason I got a touch was for the videos (now I use it for so much more).

Honestly, how could you regret buying an :apple: product?
:D

Love my iBook

I have the last of the iBook G4s-bought in late 2005. Six months later the intel Macbooks came out. Didn't lose a wink of sleep. This thing is rock solid! I upped the RAM to 1.50, it has a 1.42 Ghz processor, Super Drive-what more could I ask for? It's actually faster and less buggy than my 20" intel iMac. In fact, the iBook is my preferred computer. The only thing I would change is a bigger hard drive & to be a tad lighter......But, have an iPhone now, so for short trips-no problem.

I purchased a 3G iPod just before they were discontinued. Even though the color screen models came shortly thereafter, I loved my 3G and actually thought it was superior to the newer models (no point in having a color screen if you can't do video, and monochrome screens are easier to see). It wasn't until the 5.5G model came out that I actually thought the line had been improved enough to warrant upgrading... and conveniently enough, my 3G died shortly thereafter, letting me upgrade to the Classic!

Likewise, my gf got a 2G nano for her birthday, and two months later the fatty models were released. She says she actually prefers hers because she has no intention of using the video options.

The design of that model actually made me decide to go for apple when I bought my first computer. I bought an LC with system 7 and I think I still should be using it if it didn't die.

I miss the MacPlus

I do regret convincing my father some years ago (in the 90s) \to sell the MacPlus we had, for some stupid amount of money.:(

How I miss the Mac+ keyboard: the key's springs gave the right feeling when typing, how I miss those days.

I still have an eMac G4 1.25Ghz, that runs MacOS9 and MacOS X, but is down in Venezuela, hopefully I will bring it back to my hands in March. And I will never sell it, no matter what!

Anyway using vMac on my wife's intel MacBook help me play again cool games like Lode Runner, HardBall, Shufflepuck Cafe and Pirates!
Can't wait to go back my parent's home and search for the Ancient Art of War, Dark Castle, Beyond Dark Castle, most of the Sierra Online ones.

i-book G4 for me just before the announcement of the macbook. Thing is great! Bluetooth and airport included and with my upgraded hard drive and superdrive its still relevant. And Apple still sells the combo????
Basically Apple although we love um they are a capitalist org with a very clued up upgrade path in products. They release products in a slow steady trickle with a clear progression in cost. I mean the combo in todays market? Find me a pc with one today? If I pay £600+ for a laptop I want to be able to burn Dvds.

I kinda wish I would have waited for the MBA instead of having a MacBook. I have the power I need in my iMac, and I wanted a portable. Oh well, on the bright side, I have double storage, lots more power, and a super drive :p

CD Rev. A MacBook here. Runs like the day I got it, more or less. Poor thing could definitely use a go-over with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, though. *hug*
