For the 12" Powerbook I'll like the same retro-illuminated keyboard as 15" and 17" have...(so cute) and a new graphic card.

Thats all :)

You guys are no fun. The sweaty anticipation of the next great Apple product is the best part. Remember, it's the journey and not the destination.

yeah, that's why we will be happy even when they announce only .Mac widgets. i've been waiting for them for six month now. i'm so excited.

Damn poopy poo! I have to go to class! And I don't finish until 10:30 PST! I tell you, Steve-o had better not introduce anything too terribly spiffy in the first thirty minutes. I want to be sitting in front of my PowerBook, furiously clicking refresh every five seconds praying that the product to end all products is announced. Or something along those lines. :p

Don't worry, I am sure the first 30 minutes will be on iPod sales and ITMS. I bet you will make it home 15 minutes before anything is announced.

Wicked. Thanks for the reassurance :) I don't know if it's a commentary on education or my own psychosis that I would rather hear new product announcements from Apple than study Middle East Politics and Modern British History...

Is there a way to watch this live or something, or do we have to wait until after it's over to get a video?

Not jittery, because I'm not really in the market (although my birthday and anniversary are right around the corner). But just for the heck of it...

• 30 minutes raving about: iPod nano success, Mac market share, OS X, blahblahblah
• Official acknowledgement of Mac mini spec changes
• minor updates to PowerBook line, maybe with a small price drop
• Unveiling of new 970MP based dual Power Mac G5 high-end machine
• stupid pink Madonna-branded nano that comes with a discount coupon for her entire library, and that will ultimately and mystifyingly sell 7 bajillion units (looking forward to the after-market clickwheel add-on joystick shaped like a conical bra)

one more thing
• iTunes Media Store now offering downloads of music vids and other short content like video podcasts, which will be viewable on the new
• 40/80GB iPod with larger screen, smaller click wheel, and the ability to play back content on the iPod or on your TV

So, how do the brick and mortar Apple Stores work during these events? Unless the new iPod is a colossal disappointment, I will be picking one up today, as my 2G hasn't been able to hold all of my music in quite awhile. Does the store close and then open up again after the announcement? Or do they remain open and just put everything out after the announcement is over, or during the announcement, or what?

I plan on going up there at 1pm CDT, which would be an hour after the announcement is set to begin. Any words of advice?

On topic: I'm excited about getting a new iPod, as I've wanted one for the last year or so. I don't really care if it plays video or not...I'm getting a new one either way. So, yes, I'm a little jittery. :)

Pretty close to reality I would say.

I think those predictions are way too optimistic. My guess is only iPod Video/AV....this will make me very saddened and then after i hear the news i will go and sulk. :D :p

Or....

How about an iPod that can store video...which you either put on a flat surface or hold in your hand facing a wall and it projects the picture?

It could then use those (were they Bose?) 'virtual speakers' to project cinematic sound from the snake's-ear size holes in the side of the casing...

Just wish I hadn't used the credit card to buy the Nano.
