am digging ios10, but i do miss my jailbreak. there's less of that that i need now, but still... overall, tho, appreciate the stability of the 'actual' OS (and i spent way too much time fine-tuning JB details). hmmm...

I have always updated on day one and will continue to do so.

So my schedule for that day will be wake up, update my iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, MacBook Air and iMac while I go wash up. End goal - get everything updated before I leave for work.

Anyways, I live in Asia, so the update typically gets released at 2 am.
iOS text picker sucks. Tried at least 10 times but none of those can let me select the last paragraph of your comments.

Anyway. I will update at my most convenient time. Not literally day one or even the first second but not too long after being released. I live in Australia. :)

Dumb question here but I'm new to all of this so how do you guys get the beta versions of the new OS? Is it by invitation only? Right now my phone only shows an update of 9.3. It is a regular 6 though.

Other than the mis-matching design changes, iOS 10 feels and performs so much better than iOS 9 ever did. It definitely feels like 10.2 already.

Didn't want to take a big chance by following the beta (especially the first few ones), but now the beta seems pretty mature, tempted to install it, but at the same time, the GM is out in a few weeks, so I guess I'll just wait.

I'll at least wait until I read comments on macrumors. I'm usually an early adopter but only after I read comments

You have to join the beta program: beta.apple.com

Follow instructions from there, especially about making an archived backup.

I wanted. Really. But won't.
I waited for the function to "delete" built-in apps. But because swipe-to-unlock will become press-home-to-unlock, I'll avoid it.

If your device has Touch ID, you don't need to press to unlock.

iOS text picker sucks. Tried at least 10 times but none of those can let me select the last paragraph of your comments.

It's been broken for years but I've never been sure how much of it is down to added complexity in web pages making it difficult for the algorithm to identify words/sentences/paragraphs and how much is down to degradation in that feature. When it was first introduced it worked beautifully for selecting text on web pages and now it seems it will semi-randomly jump between words/paragraphs/entire divs/entire pages when you try to select. It still works great in other apps like Word etc.

Probably my single greatest frustration with my iPad and one of the reasons I couldn't ditch a "real computer" where text selection (mostly) works as expected.

Haven't used the beta yet. Usually I update to the GM the day of the keynote. I will probably do that again, but this is the first year where I'm struggling to find features I care about. I can't wait for the clipboard sync, but Apple needs to release new MBPs first!

There are also some regressions in UI I'm not so thrilled about (Control Center, Music.)

I have the PB installed on my 6s. I'm not sure if I'm going to update my SE to iOS 10 on day one. I want to first see how the battery life is on the SE on iOS 10 since it's pretty great on iOS 9.

Battery life on my SE on 10 Beta is great, probably even better than on 9, which was pretty good anyway. I'm loving this phone...it's a little powerhouse.

I used to update on .0 releases, but the polish isn't there. Will always wait until at least .1 to update. This way I know my device will be stable.

Nothing like buying a brand new iPhone 6 and having my orientation not work for at least a month.

I see no reason to wait. I've been running the developer betas since beta 1 on my iPad Mini 4 and an older iPhone 5S. I loaded developer preview 3 on my daily driver and have not looked back. No need to be shy at this point.

why would anyone who's been running the betas not update to the (at least theoretically) sanest (ie 'finished') version of the OS right away?
