Going to order myself a 128GB version, probably in white with the black front or I may get the colour I always get in black (or space grey). But I do love the new black screen on silver and white back and sides.

I'm getting a 128gb Black one to replace my 5s. Finally, it's almost here. :)
Selling-points for me are:
- Nice size
- Touch-ID still
- Real Home-Button
- More reasonable cost (especially compared to expensive iPhone-11 which also has no 5G). And yeah, 4G-LTE is just fine with me still.

Since you guys buy and trade a lot of iPhones, I hope it is ok if I ask some questions?

I have always previously bought my family's iPhones at local AT&T store. If I buy directly from Apple, will I get the exact same phone? I'm wondering if I will need to move my sim-card like before (when I upgraded from old iPhone-5 to this iPhone-5s)? Will I have a problem porting my existing number, or activating with AT&T (adding to my Family Plan)?

we are buying two of these in 128GB. Hubby has a 6S and has been waiting for this as he wants the same size. I have a 6S Plus and would have liked the 11 but for the cost this is more affordable. Since I retired I don’t use a phone anywhere near as much so whilst I‘ll miss the larger screen in every other way this phone is a more sensible choice.

The first question that springs to mind, do you have a physical sim card? If you do, it should be as easy as swapping the sim card over with the new phone. If it is a digital sim, I'll let someone that knows about this answer!

Edit: Your new phone will be 'unlocked', meaning it can work with any Sim (Including your one) rather than just one carrier.
Hope this helps!

To be honest, I don't think the SE2 offers much over the 8 Plus. I mean sure its faster but are we really going to notice it? The price point isn't bad though.

you won’t notice a difference today, but in 1-2 years it will probably be noticeably faster than anything using the A11 or earlier. If you have a phone to trade in, you can nearly wash the cost of the phone

I consider getting this for Christmas for my mum. However, I will see the price difference between this and the Xr towards the end of the year and then decide which one to take.

There is still hope for the SE Plus coming in the next months, so I would hold out if I were you (or would wait until the autumn to get a cheaper 11 when the new models are out).

I’m sorely tempted, but given everything going on at the moment, I think I’m going to be socking away every cent I can for the time being. I’m just lucky that both my wife and I are employed full time still.

Were I to get one, definitely the black 128GB.

I may try it out...

but i don't wanna turn into a "hop-skotch bunny" (trying new devices as they come available just because..)

Yep, exact model.

You have several options if buying from Apple.

1. You can do the upgrade at Apple same as you would with AT&T. If you choose the AT&T option, you need to be either owner or authorized user on the AT&T account and Apple will ask for some details on your AT&T account. The iPhone will come with AT&T SIM linked to your phone number. All you'd need to do is activate it (very easy to do; part of the initial iPhone setup process).

You can manually swap the SIM but yours is probably old so I'd recommend just activating the SIM that comes with the device.

2. Buy SIM-free and manually swap your SIM card.

i’m debating about that, certainly the September price drop, but do you really think they would bring out an SE Plus?

My 6S battery is getting weak, and since I never updated my iOS past 10, app support is drying up (not a huge concern to me, but might be inconvenient in the future) so I have pondered the idea of a new phone for a while. I'm quite used to the size of the 6S now, coming from an iPhone 3G and 5S.

Economy is not treating me well though, so it could be a while before I buy. When I do, it will be a White 64GB. I love that they went back to the black front/white back, just like on my 3G. All 3 colors look great on this.

64GB Black to replace my 32GB SE. Hoping for better battery life! I will be turning my old SE into a glorified iPod Touch.

Of course it's just a rumour for now, but from a source which proved reliable so far (Prosser). But anyways you will be better off in all ways waiting until September - be it because of the SE Plus, a cheaper 11 or the SE which will for sure get even cheaper by then.

I’m going to wait until September and see what Apple announce in terms of iPhone 12 but am seriously considering buying iPhone SE in the 256GB variant. Sure, there’d be a few trade offs but I’m not bothered about having the latest all singing and dancing iPhone anymore to be frank.

If I can find a deal for the iPhone SE from Verizon or Costco that is too good to turn down in the next couple of weeks, I'm in.

Otherwise, we're looking at 5 months until the iPhone 12 launches if the normal schedule holds. I think my iPhone 7 can hold on til then but it won't be pretty.

I really don’t think they will drop the price of the SE when it’s 5 months old. None of the September phones are “competition” or a replacement so there’s no need to. I think it’ll stay $399 until it’s discontinued and/or an SE3 happens.

None of the above. Unfortunately the moment for me to buy this, or something like this, has come and gone. To put this into context I say this owning a Samsung Galaxy S10 and iPhone Xs… both of which came to me, new, at below $US700.

Getting one for my wife ASAP. Her old SE is dying. Work has a load of test phones so I can borrow those all I like (iOS developer). Though I did say I'd get one when they came out. Touch ID FTW, though Face ID has grown on me.

I'm in "almost" the same boat as you. My wife loved her SE, but she updated to iPhone 11 Pro to take better pictures of the family (potrait mode as well). She HATED the phone, the size, how expensive it has to be, and face ID. When she saw the new SE yesterday, she was already telling me to get rid of her iPhone 11 Pro (I don't see trade in value with Appel yet). But she will be getting the SE regardless.

You'd do a lot better selling her 11 Pro privately from somewhere that gives you protection when selling, or asking on Facebook amongst friends & family etc to see if they want to buy it. You'll still get the majority of it's value back if it's in good condition. Apple's trade in values are far from bad, but they also obviously won't give you their value on the used market.

I meant it will get cheaper elsewhere - 3rd party retailers, Amazon and so on. Apple will not lower this price for sure, but you do not have to buy from Apple.
