Who regrets getting their MBP

My MBP will last me at least 3 years - all this new new new technology may be faster, but what I have right now is incredibly fast.
If you keep waiting for the next thing around the corner, you'll never just settle down and be happy with what you have. It's really annoying how everyone is selling their old MBP for the new one. Are they gonna do that every 6 months? It's absolutely ridiculous and you can't do something like that when it comes to technology.
As far as the new MBP, it's not that much better in my opinion. More RAM? I already have more RAM. More harddrive space? I already have external harddrives. C2D? It's not that much faster than CD.
I just think people have to stop waiting for the next thing because it's gonna be "the next thing" every few months.
me too. even though it's only been 3 weeks i've had mine, i'm more than happy with it... i don't regret it one bit.
Well i literally got mine friday and I regularly check here so I knew it was coming.
Saying that I don't regret. 3 reasons:
1) I got refurb so it was cheap.
2) I got 7200rpm which gives me bragging rights over the merom fanboys
3) No gpu upgrade - that was the only thing that was gonna make the mbp significantly faster (and for me significant = jump from ti 800 to 2.16CD)
Fw800, nice but my 2 externals are 400, and if its on the same bus as the 400 (anyone know?) then not that excited. DL burning no biggie (discs are $$). 2gb standard on the hi end is the gravy for me, but then thats not really an upgrade, just a good gesture on apple's part. Plus even a small bump = new hardware = potentially new issues (if the mbp could have any new noises, maybe a meow?) [this is the slightly bitter paragraph if you hadn't guessed]
No - no regrets...bit annoying tho.

NO. I got mine in March its the old 1.83 still faster then all my freinds comps the chicks still love my comp more. The upgrade was not anywhere that severe I came from the pc world where upgrades happen by the time you open the box, so it really dosent matter what you buy theres always gonna be something better thats jsut how it goes. I cant really imagine a computer faster then this. I definetly wouldnt need it. I game on this run final cut pro and everything and its ridiculously fast. I love my Macbook Pro.
Meh. I don't regret it at all. I still have a damn fast laptop which has never had any performance issues. Why would I really need a laptop with .17 GHZ difference from my present processor speed?
I'm just pissed that Apple didn't put a lot of this stuff in a while ago. It's not like they couldn't. And all I wanted was a bigger hard drive.

Absolutely not! The new computer may be faster, but I can't imagine it. How can you get much faster than instantaneous? You'd have be doing some crazy intensive work on your computer to notice the difference I think. I was really worried they were going to change the form factor and add some really cool unheard of features. I was relieved to read this morning that it's pretty much the same computer.
No regrets! Thrilled that I have this machine and that I have been enjoying it rather than waiting. The speed difference is really no difference to me.

I have a MacBook on its way but I was a little worried I had ordered too soon, seeing the MBP updates and fearing a soon MB update. But a wise friend told me "Even if it's not the newest model, it's still new to you." which I think has some merit.
Even if a MacBook update does come, I don't think I'll have any regrets. Also, the older it gets, the less likely someone will steal it.

i dont regret not waiting because i know i won't be remembered as, "One of those ******** that bitched about C2D upgrades for 6 months!" ugghhh.... I'm glad they were released just to shut everyone up.

Wow, how did you survive with Windows 98?
Purchased MBP 1.83 CD on March.
Considring the amount of work I've done with it, I don't regret at all.
However, the fact that it's in service atm makes me pretty sad...
My brother is using PB 12" at this moment, and only computer/mac I have is Mac Mini CD.
I really miss my MBP.

I don't think anyone who bought Core Duo MBP say they regret their purchase. Some people don't mind abut this update. But, some people do; but, defensive mechanism of human psyche will kick in to rationalize their purchase so that they don't come to the conclusion to regret their original purchase. Many people rationalize their decisions after their actual actions.
I actually banged my head against the wall when I saw they released them. The upgraded hard drive would have been very useful, and I've burned dual layer dvds before so that would've been really nice to have. The speed increase would have been nice too because for what I do, every thing that speeds it up, counts in the long run. It looks as though the battery is much improved also, because my current MBP battery life is pretty bad. Although, it's multiple times faster than my last laptop and I'm not going to go to the Apple store which is an hour and a half away and take this back and have to pay the restocking fee just because this is the last day I can do that. Although I do wish they released them 2 weeks ago.
