I set mine at work and when I go out to the bar. I don't like people trying to play with my phone and go through it.

It's a phone with all my e-mails and stuff on it, of course it's got a code! Comes on immediately! :D

Mandatory with Exchange

I don't have the choice : My company security policy for mobile exchange devices makes it mandatory.

Auto-lock after 1 minute, require passcode, delete after 10 failed attempts. Even though there's a passcode I'll also clean all my texts off the phone at the end of the day. You can say I'm a bit paranoid.

not true, I connect to a ES on mine and am not required to create a Passlock

Yes but it would need to be set up to force the passlock by the admin, obviously the phone wouldn't do it for all exchange servers.

I'm only speculating based on the posts anyway.

I have mine set to 4 hours. I wish I could set it for 2 hours. That would be perfect.
If you have yours set to every 4 hours, then its virutally useless.

If your phone is lost or stolen, it could be in someone's hands for hours. There's little reason to have a passcode if you going to leave the phone unlocked for half a business day.

I've been using it since the 3g. It was a bit of a nuisance at first, but after a few days it just becomes 2nd nature. And the security I felt the couple of times I misplaced my phone was very comforting. Anyone who wants to keep their data private in the wrong hands should be using it.

I have mine set to lock in 5 minutes. I do not have mobile me so I want it to lock and if I lose it it will be erased once they try to unlock it 10 times.

right, they tell you that you need to do it, but could you disable it?

I can't. I tried it on my iTouch after I got my iPhone and when I took off the password, I lost all ability to access the company exchange server on the iTouch.
