Will you upgrade on day 1?

It's not the Pro, there is no USB-C MBP?
I don't know if you are being sarcastic but the iGPU in it has done a good job so far. I was able to game stream things like Doom and Deus Ex from my gaming rig to my laptop and play them in real time, it was pretty impressive.

No sarcasm. I forgot that it's not a MBP. And your GPU really does have hardware video decoding for great battery life. I would love to have that machine. So light and beautiful. :)

I am using a MacBook Pro 2010. It is heavy and has an ancient graphics card. Alas my next upgrade isn't gonna be until like 2018, and at the rate Apple is going with their soldered RAM and SSD, it will probably have to be a Hackintosh laptop so that the machine stays upgradeable.

Hopefully they've got Thunderbolt 3 capable hackintosh laptops by then, so I can have lots of external storage for sample libraries. And I need about 6 CPU cores (which intel says is coming to mobile in 2018). With those two things I will be set for life with the music production tasks I do.

Or maybe I should just build a Hackintosh desktop for all those heavy production tasks, which would be a lot cheaper and super easy to upgrade. Choices choices. Oh well see you in 2018 for the exciting conclusion to these musings! :p

...after what happened with my iPhone 6s Plus, nope. I upgraded to iOS 10, within a minute of the release, and it crashed. Had to restore (couldn't till I got home), and then try again. It took three attempts.

I'll wait till the weekend, or something like that.

I won't be upgrading until I'm sure all my software is compatible, and right now there's a huge problem with Fujitsu's ScanSnap software.

I just really hope this isn't a repeat of my iOS 10 update and bricks my system. Was seriously not impressed. After owning iPhones since the 3GS it was the first time something like that happened.

I'm still on iOS 9. That's it for me for iOS devices but I'll wait until 10.12.1.hits the street before considering it. El cap is just amazingly stable and Sierra doesn't have any must have features.

This too. Let some others find out the third party issues first :)

I'll update right away*. No concerns.

Because: reasons.

*already using the second GM seed so there's that. Awaiting the final release of macOS Sierra to be a different build number so that I will have to do the reinstall dance once more.

Also I love the smell of a fresh formatted GUID partition table in the morning.

The final of El Cap from the GM was the same as I recall. Might be the case with this one too. Anyone who gets an app store update later from the GM let us know.

I'll do it, on the first or second day probably.

Why? Because I tried the first and second betas, and it was pretty stable and smooth on my MacBook Pro 13" 2010. It is the oldest MacBook Pro supported, and the experience was quite satisfactory. So I plan to clean install Sierra and stay there for ever, literally, with minor updates and security patches.

Reduced motion on animations is one of those features people haven't talked much about, and for me is a very pleasing upgrade over the choppiness of Mission Control animation on Yosemite and even in El Capitan.

By the way, just right after the installation, I'm going to switch off Siri. It consumes resources from my CPU (CoreAudiod, constant 4-5%) and I'm not going to use it, contrary to the dictation feature.

Excuse me for my english, I've been some months without using it and it is not my native language.

Day 1 for me.

Sure, it's probably not practical. But I love the Mac, and this looks like a great update.

I am downloading it too. 1 hour left on my download. Not sure yet if I will hit Install when the download is complete...

What if The EVERYTHING breaks?!

So, what time zones are you guys in that are getting it now??

East Coast US here, and no sign yet.

Dontcha mean UTC + !?

;)

I am in UTC+1. The download is complete but I am afraid that installing it will ruin my MacBook Pro 2010. ;D

By the way, macOS Sierra doesn't seem to list itself under the "Purchased" tab like previous OS X versions did... weird huh? I wonder what that means when using the "rescue boot" Cmd+R and choosing "reinstall OS X from the internet"? It checks your AppleID's eligibility online, and that required the OS X version to be purchased on your account.

Edit: Yes, like grahamperrin I saw it under "Other Purchases" at the top while it downloaded, but it vanished after the download was completed.

I just upgraded my 6-core Mac Pro and so far no problems. My main monitor is a 30" IPS LED DisplayPort 2560x1600 and my 2nd one is a 28" 4K UHD monitor. Here is a screenshot off the 4K UHD monitor:

My MacBook Air is still downloading.

Done! No real surprises after running the developer preview on my iMac. Needed to reinstall TunnelBlink, Bartender and Safari DP, but all working very smoothly on my 2013 MBA :D

I just stopped home to download it (which took about 20 minutes) and left it installing (estimated about 33 minutes, at the reboot and white screen installer).....

My Mac has been purring like a kitten on the GM from 2 weeks ago.

NO FEAR ;)

I'll download it on my secondary machine (2011 MM) and if all goes smoothly I'll update my MBA in a week or so.
