I'm going from a 6+ in a Defender Otterbox to a 7+ in a Apple Leather case. So to me thats practically naked.

Do you naked folks even use screen protectors?
Never

Black is back so I'm going naked! The 6 and 7 are both slippery but I'll be getting AppleCare plus so really hoping the black doesn't scratch easily to reveal the silver underneath!!!

Bought the leather case for the regular 7 and loved the feeling of it (mostly the buttons). This is my first case as I never used a case starting from the iPhone 2g. I told myself that I would use a case for this generation because the matte black might get ugly as it gets scratched and start to show wear underneath the coat while the other space grays were more "natural" aluminum so wear wouldn't be too visible.

After using the case for 9 hours, I'm contemplating returning the case and using it naked. Feels just kinda clunky. Hate the feeling of having a lip around the screen, negates the smoothness of when you swipe end to end. Because the phone is so new I still have that "overprotective" nature and thinking about all those "what if" situations where I drop the phone and crack it when the last cracked phone I did was the iPhone 3g. Long tangent aside, is anyone going caseless this year? (no skin, nothing air case, etc etc)

While not case-less, I ordered a slim bumper for my 7. No back protection, no screen protector. I guess it's the next best thing to going "naked."

I ordered a black Apple Silicon case, but I'm considering going naked the majority of the time with my 7 Plus. The only time I may use the case is when I'm working out in the wild.

I always end up getting a case and taking it off. So I guess that leaves me in the no case camp. How sturdy are these things anyway? Specifically the mute switch. Anyone ever have an issue with it?

You guys are bold. I'm pretty careful with my stuff, but over the course of two years, my phones always hit the ground at least a few times.

I really like the look of the Apple saddle brown leather, it matches my small front pocket wallet. If they didn't offer the color I would likely go without a case or go with a clear.

I'm pretty sure the regular black colour uses the same colouring techniques as the other iPhones. It's dyed aluminium isn't it, not just a coating? They learned their mistake from black coatings on the iPhone 5.

I'm going naked and it's crazy but I got applecare so I'm blessed. It's so nice looking at the back of the 7+ matte black without the case but I'm definitely getting a glass screen protector.

Really need to find a good glass screen protector.

My daughter just bought her first ever brand new iPhone which she got on launch day. Even though she paid for it using her money from her part time job, as parents we insisted that it went straight in a decent case with a screen protector. Yes, it looks a bit less gorgeous but we know our daughter well and she can be as clumsy a person as you are ever likely to meet. She knows it too so was happy to do this.

Yesterday, on her way to school, she was running late and managed to slam it, full force, in the front door!!!

Luckily for her, the case saved it and the screen protector was the only casualty. However, she spent all day thinking she had smashed up her £700 phone and I have never seen a more relieved person when she came home and I showed her it was just the protector. Lesson learned and no harm done. She will ALWAYS be using a decent case.

I think we start one of these every launch too, but I think it's still a valid question each year!

Who's going nekkid this year? Personally, I've always put on some kind of case (usually the Apple case), but I think I'm going to try and go naked with the 7Plus Matte Black.
The problem Apple created was the huge camera bump on the back. It'll prevent the phone from laying flat on its back. Setting aside how ugly it is, the bulge is a big annoyance.
