OC Baby!
Funny story...

I was at a wedding this last weekend and I saw a guy with a cool looking square watch. It had a black face, leather band and the 12, 3, 6, 9 were oversized.

I was guessing it was a few hundred dollar watch that I might consider buying. Bound and determined to figure out what kind of watch it was - I looked through the pages of this thread but didn't see anything that resembled it. Unfortunately, I didn't find it...

Well I saw the guy again and caught a glimpse of the band and saw it had a BR on it. My brain automatically jumped to, oh it must be Banana Republic. I can probably pick it up for $100.

Excited - I jumped online to purchase one - well, I was sadly mistaken - after a quick internet search I found out it was a Bell & Ross that costs $4000!

When it was all said and done, I felt like a dork. :D I thought it was pretty funny though.

If you've seen a picture of a Bell & Ross you will know one when you see one and given the size of them, they are not that difficult to see. I know people who like them, personally I think they are hideous.

My friend has the same watch, but with a black face and metal stretchy band. He was a recon US Marine and wore it throughout his career in Afghanistan. It is still going strong, and he said the watch illuminates brightly and clearly under the darkest of night.

That the reason why I this watch was my first choice.

Here's mine, a Suunto D6 with metallic strap. Yes, I am a diver. ;)

It mathematically models nitrogen loading in the body when underwater and calculates decompression stops if necessary. Oh, and it tells the time. Would love to own a Breitling Navimeter someday as a fashion watch though. Beautiful timepieces.
