Who's got a nice watch?

Dude, don't wear a hardcore diver watch and a shirt. What the hell? :)
They don't go together.

BTW, nice watch, i had one too, but it was to big for me, so i traded it for a Sea Dweller.

Good choice.

Dssd is a bit of a cartoon.
I would rather have a panerai if I wanted an oversized watch, not a Rolex.

40mm rolexes are perfect.

Haha, I agree it's a big watch for sure, not my everyday watch. I wear my GMT-Master II probably 99% of the time.

Love the Sea Dweller, nice trade. I've been thinking of trading my DSSD but I just can't bring myself to do it.

The cesspit of civilization
Here are mine...

Wow, it took me about a week to go trough these 5 years of postings, but I didn't want to post before reading all the posts in the thread :D

I know citizen watches are not expensive-nice, but I really love them, they are great keeping time, are resistant, the titanium ones are really light and almost all are solar powered. In a way you can say they are budget-conscious nice. I have 2 citizen's and a couple of even cheaper watches for variety (an invicta and a Stührling that I got on amazon, plus a timex IronMan i use when I go for a swim or for a run).

I was interested on a Rolex milgauss for the anti-magnetic properties, and was saving to get one (financed) when I discovered its anti-magnetic rating (0.1 Tesla) was not enough for what I planed to use it for (on the MRI room and during rTMS). Enter the new Omega Seamaster AquaTerra 15,000 gauss (yes, it is 15 times more resistant to magnetism, and just barely enough to use inside the MRI room). So now I'm saving to get "my" new Omega. Which, BTW, is a lot cheaper than the Milgauss

*I took this from a magazine*

This citizen has been my daily driver for the last year, it has an alarm, different time zones, it's radio-controlled, solar-powered and when you program the day-month-year it changes from DST to "normal" time automatically and without any user intervention. The chronograph second's hand moves in 200 milliseconds intervals. I am so geeked out over it.

These are my other watches:

My "oldest" watch is the titanium eco-drive, it has been with me trough at least 2 transcontinental movings, and has dived in the mare nostrum, in the atlantic (the gulf of Mexico and in the caribbean) and in the pacific. I just had to replace the screw on the crown once in the 5 years I've had it.

The IronMan is cheap but trustable and a great sport's watch. Both the invicta and the stührling are nice-looking but mediocre-quality watches. They haven't yet failed to keep time in 2 years, though. And since I haven't used the Stührling in a long time, it still displays the DST.

I had a citizen eco drive for four years... and I think I want something slightly different. I don't want to be reminded of my old watch all the time...
2 and a half years later, but may I suggest the radio-controlled multi-time zone citizen? What did you got?

Are there any watches out there for guys like me with big wrists? I love me a nice watch but can never find one that fits..
It's been a year since you posted, but If you are still looking, the invicta Russian Pro Diver should fit a big wristed guy like you.

Already kinda scratched up :/ (got it around Christmas)
Just picked this up yesterday, nice and understated just how I like it :) . Also matches my phone and my guitar  haha
Hey, 2 more lefties! Nice!

Any nice analog radio controlled watches ?
... Does anyone know of a similar radio controlled solar powered watch that actually works?
Yes, I can vouch for my model of Citizen!

I did get a Teno Watch for Xmas*, some German manufacturer, typical scandinavian "clean" design, I absolutely love it.

*again: we're bad with early gifts... :)

Yep, this is my daily driver. Skyhawk AT Titanium, I live abroad and the multi timezone, water resistant to 200m, radio control (auto update from the atomic clock) and solar powered part make it great, no batteries and is always accurate to 1 second.
Gets rough use too but so far hasn't got a mark on it.

Gant Park Hill. Quartz. Diameter 43mm. The watch itself is very slim.

Had this one, until I got mugged. It's not really expensive for a watch, around 1700 NOK (270 USD). To me this is the perfect watch. And I'll be picking up a new one soon.

Where did you get mugged?

I have the same watch and I love it. The band is the only part that has gotten roughed up. Called Citizen Support and ordered a new one, now it's as good as new.

I bought the Milgauss strictly for it's looks and lume. I wanted a white dialed watch and the competition was between an Explorer II and the Milgauss.

FYI: The difference between the 8500 movement in the 15000 Gauss and the 8500 movement in the other current Aqua Terra watches is that specific parts are made out of a different non-ferrous material. Omega will be replacing those parts in most (if not all) the other 8500 based watches resulting in another revision of the 8500.

Omega is informally on a second revision of the 8500. Omega came out with the 8500 a few years ago. Then a year after they came out with the silicon Si14 balance spring, which was eventually incorporated as standard in the 8500, resulting in the second revision.

I did get to try the 15000 Gauss on a couple weeks ago for the first time since Omega hadn't been touring a copy around with the other Basel pieces (e.g. Dark Side, 1957 Speedmasters, etc). I will say it is very visually appealing in person.
