I guess I got lucky. Besides Siri failing to work 1 out of 4 times, I have had ZERO issues with my 4S. Battery life is great! So I'm not risking my good luck by downloading .1 and risking something going wrong.

Who's with me?

I'm not with you.

My upgrade to 5.0.1 was very smooth and everything works. I wanted to try the OTA update. Very nice!

My 4S is working fine, so I don't see any reason to be in a rush to install 5.0.1

I've been completely satisfied with battery usage/standby times (i.e. at 60% right now with 3h14m usage, 10h39m standby) with most everything turned on. If I'd been experiencing problems I'd probably have put it on as soon as it was out.

I'm with you. No good reason to upgrade. I'm staying put at 5.0

I'll upgrade when Apple gives me something to upgrade for.

The error rate for messed up s/w upgrade may be low, but it's not zero.
If there's zero reward to go with a non-zero risk, then it makes no sense.

I don't believe I had any issues with my 4s but decided to do the update as I believe if Apple was willing to say there's a need for a fix, then there very likely was something they needed to address.

OTA worked smooth as can be. Finished in less than 10 minutes from download to restart.

I'm holding off for now, only because it's been recommended for those of us who are wanting to jailbreak eventually. My battery life has been fine and I haven't had any problems, so I'll just sit this one out (at least for now).

Why would anyone be with you? Seriously? It's an update, I updated it contains a lot of little fixes as well as a security fix. Enjoy the past.

ever heard the phrase, if it aint broke, don't fix it??? ya that's in full effect here.

plus, people without problems may prefer to stay on 5.0 for JB purposes.

fyi, It fixed [some peoples'] battery issues, patched Millers' security flaw, and fixed an error with iCloud documents... hardly a lot of fixes, hence why it is a 0.0.1 and not a 0.1 update!

You will have to sooner or later

Why? People can stay on 5.0 for the life of their phones if they wish. People can stay until 5.1 is released, until 6.0 is released, etc....

This isn't android.....Apple doesn't have broken releases you should be afraid of.

Well its a good thing apple didn't use that logic with iOS 1.0...

I said I wasn't going to, but I had to b.c of battery life issues. The battery now last two days again, like the 4 did. Well worth it for me.

yeah, tell that to the people who went from 4.3 to 5.0 and are now experiencing battery issues...

Why did Apple release 5.0.1 if 5.0 was NOT broken???

Where did I say Apple wouldn't release another version of iOS... oh ya I didn't.

I simply said, you are not forced to upgrade "sooner or later" especially to a 0.0.1 release like this.

Well, I don't know anybody that actually experienced any problems with 5.0. I didn't none of my friends did, my gf didn't...the only people I see who claim to have are on the internet complaining....and thats what they LOVE to do. Yes I experienced lower battery life my first week on 5.0....because I was using my phone more playing with the new features....once I got back on a regular usage it went right back to normal...and even with excess usage I still had enough to make it thru the day.
