We haven’t yet received our 2 new M1 MBAs but after reading the forums here I’m a little bit nervous.
It seems everyone is having Bluetooth or Display or some sort of issues.
Please let me know that yours works perfectly and give me something to look forward to.
Thank you!!

Bluetooth: I had it for my Mac mini, and I soon realized that the antenna of mini is at the bottom of the case, after replacing it from a metal surface to a wood surface, problem solved. My MacBook Pro does not have the problem.

Display: It is a more tricky one. For me, it is just working fine. But some "patches" that work on Intel Mac no longer works, like forcing RGB mode. To me, the color and font sharpness is just fine on the default YCbCr, so I will live with that. I don't have the "wake-up" issue, but my external display sometimes won't go sleep, not very frequent though.

Lots of issue might be caused by 3rd party docks/USB peripherals, some will work with reduced functionality and some does not work at all.

We do have issues on Macs, and not having them only means your setup will not trigger that issue, not that issue is not present, no matter it's on AS or on Intel.

No issues so far (MBA 8/8, 16/512). Bluetooth and the connection to my Apple Thunderbolt Display work both flawlessly.

Been going sweet since launch day, haven't had any bluetooth issues, though haven't used much. Spent a day connected to some speakers while making a playlist and it was fine.

There was a small hiccup I'll put down to Big Sur, after logging in I opened up Safari, Mail, Reminders and Messenger. Mail, reminders and Spotlight stopped responding. After a restart all was good and hasn't repeated.

Use a Samsung T5 didn't have any issues. Started off as exFAT, copied everything to the Air and formatted to APFS and copied back without issues.

I haven't come across any issues - bluetooth is working great, display has no bleed or fuzziness, and all of the apps and peripherals I have used so far are working.

My M1 Pro is running great. Couldn't be happier. Most of the days I'm non-stop in a Zoom meeting. Normally this would cause my 15" i9 to run slow and very hot (fans at full speed). Now I can enjoy these meetings in complete silence. and the M1 doesn't even heat up that much

Meeeeeeeeeee!

Base MBP, first Mac as well.

Oh and before you think I've been doing nothing with it, I've an Iiyama 3440/1440 monitor on it and had two music podcasts done on Garageband within a week of taking it out of the box.

Then again, I haven't been looking for trouble either!

Haven't seen any issues specific to my M1 MBP. Works great with my Caldigit TS3+ and Apple Magic Trackpad & Keyboard (both bluetooth), and Dell U2717D monitor. Also works great with an inexpensive USBC hub & old viewsonic 24" 1080p display.

The one hiccup I've been seeing is probably a Big Sur thing - sometimes a reminder popup waking the display makes the brightness go wonky for a half a minute.

I have a MBA 16G/1T works fine. Only issue I have are w/ a couple of games on Crossover that work on the intel. The fact anything works on Crossover is impressive. Running macOS 11.1 beta edition.

Base MBP, no issues. Then again, I don't use external accessories or displays, so can't speak for those

I am not having any issues. I went from a 2018 mini to a M1 think the bluetooth is a lot better. I have a large desk and used to have all sorts of problems with handoff with the previous Mini and now it works perfectly.

Running a 43" 4K display and that works great as well.

And I went from 32GB on my 2018 mini to the base 8GB M1 and it is a hundred times faster even with my usual 100 browser tabs and 10 apps open.

I could not be more happy with the transition.

Base MBA , owned about 2 weeks or so

no issues with Bluetooth or Ethernet or WiFi as yet

runs my external 38” 4K just fine, wakes from sleep.

All seems to be working fine with external storage and peripheral like Bluetooth keyboard and MX mouse.

only issues for me personally is :

- back up and sync for google drive doesn’t work.
- issues with QB Torrent
- sidecar initially but i have remedied this

overall i had more teething problems with my MBP 16 base, than i have had with the M1 MBA. To be fair i sorted out all issues with MBP16 after a few weeks (display/wake/etc)

I have had no problems with my M1 Air 16/512. I’ve been running it every day since receiving it on the 17th. I run maybe 20% of the time in clamshell with dual 1440p displays at my desk. Using bluetooth for my PS4 controller; zero drops. I use quality WIRED headphones, so can’t speak to Bluetooth for audio (yuck apple, don’t get me started).

I could list a litany of things that work much better than prior Macs, but there are threads like this already. So far it’s the best Mac I’ve ever owned; and I have owned dozens since my first Mac II in 1987.

I am a power user; so expect I push it harder than most. Doing emulation for Linux with both hypervisor and QEMU. A dozen iOS apps in addition to my Mac apps. Xcode, etc. All good.

Second day with a mini 16/512. Migrated from a late 2013 13" MBPro. Apple Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad. The sole issue was an incorrect screen resolution on an LG5K monitor when the mini woke from sleep for the very first time. Ever since, no issue there, and no others at all. It's working flawlessly (no serious loads, it's a home office machine). Early days yet but fingers crossed.

I am not having Bluetooth issues that many people are having (I have magic keyboard and mouse of previous generation and they work fine), but I am having problems with displays when waking the computer (Mini) from sleep.

Actually I might say "I was having", since it's not happening right now. When I bought the computer I had only one old Acer display connected to HDMI, and often it would not wake up right away or easily, so I had to disconnect it or turn it off/on. I also had a few kernel panics during sleep that seem to be related to HDMI.

However a few days ago I received my other display (a BenQ) which I use as primary connected with a USB-C to DisplayPort cable. The Acer display is still connected to HDMI as secondary. No idea why, but I haven't had any issues with it for a couple of days.

Ah, a couple of times I've seen some weird flickering on the primary BenQ display lasting a few seconds, not sure if that's the monitor or the cable or else.

I don't think I've had other issues apart that 8GB seem to be insufficient sometimes, but that's a different thing.

I HAD a few issues with my MacBook Air M1 basic model.
1, the AirPods Pro connection got disconnected intermittently.
2, it happened two times, when open the lid, it didn't wake up instantly, instead, it took nearly 10 seconds.
3, played an 8K HDR video on M1 supported Chrome browser causing CPU utilization reaches 100%, and out of memory error, chrome got shot down.
Somehow these issues are gone. It haven't happen for past week, 8K video played ok, still have dropped frame, CPU moderate CPU usage, no out of memory message. Weird.

Other then these strange issues. Im very pleased with the new M1 MacBook Air.

My display is also using the YCrCb color space instead of the RGB. When my mac Mini starts up, it choses the right color space and when the loading bar is halfway through it switches to YCrCb. Suuuper weird. :D And I have some weird issues with blurry fonts all over the place. :( But anything else is working just fine. Even though I'm waiting for Windows support through Parallels.
