I am not having any issues. I went from a 2018 mini to a M1 think the bluetooth is a lot better. I have a large desk and used to have all sorts of problems with handoff with the previous Mini and now it works perfectly.

Running a 43" 4K display and that works great as well.

And I went from 32GB on my 2018 mini to the base 8GB M1 and it is a hundred times faster even with my usual 100 browser tabs and 10 apps open.

I could not be more happy with the transition.
So glad to hear that about the mini. I just ordered one. The last time I tried a mini was the 2018 one and I sent it back as it ran poorly with 8GB of RAM and I didn’t care to pay the extra money for the upgrade (and replacing it myself would have been a PITA).

It sounds like this new mini is a massive upgrade.

I bought an M1 Mini (16GB/512GB) to replace a 2019 16" MacBook Pro. (I'm keeping the Pro, but just using the Mini as a more permanent WFH setup.)

I've had it for about a week and have had no critical issues. I've been using Overcast for listening to podcasts on my desktop, which has been a great bonus. I've not had many notable issues, Bluetooth or otherwise. Everything's snappy and functional.

I'm using it with an LG 32UL950-W over Thunderbolt. This has been the only downside. The monitor looks great and everything's functional, but the monitor's resolution is slightly smaller than it was in use with my 16" Pro. It seems like it might be fixable in the relative near-term with updates to Big Sur and/or SwitchResX. But we'll see.

Otherwise, a very happy customer.

Same here overall no critical issues here. Base 8/256 Mac mini here.

I have had Logitech keyboard not working at login, but I gave up and juts use the Logitech receiver. Had a weird screen saver related issues once, but I believe that traces back to a bug between having to account both signed in, I disabled screen saver and I have not had the issue.

Also I don't observe the monitor issues that some people are having. I have two newer Dell U2719, using USBC to HDMI and HDMI to HDMI and so far I have done all my usual stuff, putting computer to sleep, reboot and I have no had any issues of screens coming back up.

I was even able to use Mac min Bluetooth with my Bose headphone to attach my 1+ hour long Discord meetings.

Just another data point, I've just received my Mac mini M1 16/512. Basically just moving my setup over. I have no experienced any issues as well.

just a suggestion but why don't you just use your laptop on its own and see if all your problems disappear?
If that happens you can then concentrate on a more defined set of problems.
Maybe those terminal commands won't work on Big Sur - things are a bit different.
They may also not work on the M1 system.
Just some things to help narrow the search area.

Why is that “weird?” There have been a lot of improvements in screens since the 2013 model.
I phrased that badly. I’m amazed at how much better my old Apple Cinema Display (which definitely predates my 2013 MBP) looks when connected to the M1 Air. It’s so much better that I’m no longer considering a new monitor, which is a sweet deal since I picked up this display a few months ago for the princely sum of £30.

Are you happy so far with 8GB? What kind of apps do you use? Has the memory been sufficient for you?

Very happy. I have similar use as you. I replied to you on your other post. I just don’t use chrome :)

with that said I did also placed an order for 16/512. I think I will keep the 16/512 simply bedside of the more storage.

Fair enough; Some of these may be OS changes from Big Sur of course. I was wondering if there are many MacOS-level differences between Intel and M1, and have been looking for a list...

I can't comment on Ruby support, but I heard that GoLang is "no-go" :)

Sounds like you like get into the weeds with the OS, so as a pioneer, you can expect to get a few arrows shot into you....

Keep us informed of progress!
Well, here's some progress: After a hard crash, glitched out monitors, and about 5 restarts later, the commands are now working.

I sure hope that Big Sur 11.1 update fixes a lot of bugs.

You are at the bleeding edge of technology, there will be issues just as there have been on many new Apple products and other manufacturers. I think you just have to accept it. I don't. MacBook White 2009 all sorted and does everything I need it to do.

We haven’t yet received our 2 new M1 MBAs but after reading the forums here I’m a little bit nervous.
It seems everyone is having Bluetooth or Display or some sort of issues.
Please let me know that yours works perfectly and give me something to look forward to.
Thank you!!
I have the 8Gb M1 Mac mini

Absolutely Love this Mac no problems what so ever .

I even Play World of warcraft at 60FPS for at lease four hours a day not a single problem.

I love everything about the M1

Not a single issue with my M1 Mac Mini. DiskUtility was crashing, trying to format a 32Gb USB thumb drive that was formatted for Ubuntu (neither Windows 10 nor Haiku could deal with it either; I was convinced the thumb drive was simply hosed) but after repartitioning/reformatting it as a single FAT partition, in Ubuntu, DiskUtility had no problem with it. Weird!

No issues so far (MBA 8/8, 16/512). Bluetooth and the connection to my Apple Thunderbolt Display work both flawlessly.
Same here. Thunderbolt monitor and 16gb Mini. Display as good as my removed 27" iMac. The TB monitor and a USB3 hub are plugged into the Mini TB ports, leaving the USB A's on the monitor and the two on the Mini for other use.
One minor gotcha. If the little dongle for the Logitec mouse is plugged into the USB3 hub, rather than the back of the Monitor, I get a line of pink dots across the screen. Go figure. I wasn't even going to try to debug that - just moved the dongle and moved on.

Really nice machine.

I’ve been really happy with my M1 MacBook Air since I got it on 11/17. The Big Sur beta fixed the issues with Crossover, so even my 1 Windows program that I still use still works. :) It’s so quiet without a fan, but unlike the 2017 12” MacBook that I sold to partly fund the Air, performance is incredible. My only complaint is that they didn’t bring back the 12” MacBook (at least not yet). The M1 would be perfect for it.

Mine works absolutely perfectly and I couldn’t be happier. In my opinion, forums like these tend to (overall) attract those with something to complain about more than those with no complaints. Getting a fully loaded M1 MBA was 100% an impulse purchase and I was ready to suffer buyer’s remorse.

Instead, I’ve been using it constantly and truly I can’t find a single thing to dislike. Bluetooth is fine. Display is fine. No software issues. Battery is amazing. Performance is amazing. My suggestion: Once you get it, just enjoy and don’t go looking for problems.

I didn't had any issue, despite some software not running.

In fact, i had more issues with bluetooth mouse (MX Anywhere 2, disconnection, double clicks, some stuttering) on Intel Mac Mini than Mac Mini M1; booth cases running on built-in Bluetooth.
