I’m a yearly upgrader but for the first time in a long time I am truly on the fence. Seems like I am getting a smidge bigger screen, smidge bigger battery and a camera button over my 15 PM???? The Gold color is sharp so if I do upgrade thats the color. TBH the colors of the regular 16 are way better IMO.

Who else is on the fence!?

Definitely on the fence. I was excited for the pro max to be 6.9 inches, but I expected more other features that were exciting. For me the jump on the 6.5 inch to the 6.7 inch pro max phones was very nice and one of my favorite upgrades. So I think the jump to 6.9 will be nice if you like big phones like me. But it’s gonna be tough to justify the purchase.

I’m not even on the fence; I’m flat-out skipping this year. And I NEVER miss a launch. This is the first phone since the 3GS that won’t be coming to me on launch day, or ever. I’m just tired of the non-Pro models getting the cooler colors (or *any* color besides shades of gray and gold 🫤), and most of the upgrades that had me excited during the keynote will be coming via iOS upgrade, so I’m sticking with my 15 PM for another year.

I was on the fence going into the keynote and came away off it. I have 15 PM and while I would appreciate the 48mp ultra wide camera and some of the new camera features, that is really it. Don't care about the capture button, personally don't need more battery life, and can get AI on my current phone. I guess it's as good a year as ever to pass (for me).

I will just wait for SE4. If it is going to include A18, which is claimed to be 50% and 70% faster in CPU and GPU performance respectively and double the RAM when compared to my iP13, I would happily take it even if it is without Dynamic Island, Ultrawide camera and may be new camera control. Assuming it gets main camera as iP15 and priced at 499.

I’m on the fence but definitely considering upgrading.

I’m gonna sell my iPhone 11, and my iPhone 15 pro max. Use the funds towards an iPhone 16 pro or pro max. I don’t think I’ll take a major hit

Leaning towards the iPhone 16 pro 6.3 since it justs more affordable. But haven’t decided yet.

15 PM here. Really on the fence. I have Apple Intelligence, and don't care about camera. The only thing is that my battery is 89% rn, so it's a matter of should I want until it drops to 80% (which probably will take a long time, perhaps after 17 is out), or just replace it with 16 PM.

I was planning to but now not so sure. It's been a while since I upgraded (still on 12pro) and every year that has passed since I bought that there hasn't really been any innovation that has inspired me to replace a phone that still works perfectly. It's a dilemma. Maybe I'd find some of the AI stuff moderately useful, but probably not as useful as I find it on the laptop. Ever since Apple enabled the macs to do most of the phone stuff on the laptop I hardly touch it when at home or working so it only occurs to me to think about it when a new one is released for about a week then I go back to not bothering. I'm sure there was a time when I was excited about getting a new upgraded phone but now.. not so much.

Where I'm stuck is between the Pro Max and the Plus. Historically I've actually preferred the Plus for combination of weight and screen size. This year the Pro Max has that battery boost though. I can go either way on screen refresh rate. The Ultramarine color on the Plus might get me there though. :)

Similar here - 14+ and loved the 2x longer battery life than my work's 14PM.

Looking at "downsizing" a bit in screen & weight and ordering the 16 Pro as I need AOD (EV phone as a key remote).

To be locked into the same carrier for 2-3 years, pay a higher rate monthly (usually their premium service), and not be able to get a new phone next year...

I’ve had the same carrier for 22 years, don’t need a new phone every year, and the monthly rate will be the same (I have a number of devices on my AT&T line)

$1,000 Trade in For a 13 Pro Max. To a 16 Pro Max T-Mobile credits. It’s a must.
Those credits stretched out over 3 years fyi. If you ever want to leave the carrier you have to pay the device off and lose all credits. I would never be held hostage to those cell phone carriers.
