I'm a bit more over the fence than on it. I'm bummed, because when I didn't upgrade last year, it was with the intention of doing it this year. I have a 13PM. I'm probably going to do it and just get white because I'm not a fan of the brown.

I’ve had the same carrier for 22 years, don’t need a new phone every year, and the monthly rate will be the same (I have a number of devices on my AT&T line)
Well then. My friend you have all the answers lol

I have a 15PM and I'm not even considering an upgrade.

I can beat that...I still use a 7+ with %90 battery and thought the 16PM would be my next iPhone. Nope. I then looked at the 16 and saw they hobbled the USB-C and that clinched it for me, no new iPhone this year. Apple made a poor decision to hobble a data port on a 16 series phone. I understand having differences in screen size, etc...but not a data port. I no more expect the USB-C data port to be hobbled than I do the cellular radio in the phone. I will wait for the SE and see what it is. Meanwhile, loving the hell out of my Ipad Pro M4. 😃

Similar here - 14+ and loved the 2x longer battery life than my work's 14PM.

Looking at "downsizing" a bit in screen & weight and ordering the 16 Pro as I need AOD (EV phone as a key remote).

Thinking more about it, the problem is that the 16s (like the 15s) are slippery bars of soap. Using it without a case (as historically I have done) is super dangerous. So if it's going to end up in a case, maybe going for Pro is worth it.

Ugh, this would be a no-brainer if the entire phone wasn't matte and had either the frame or back glass as glossy material.

Waiting for the spring to see if there is a new SE that is appealing to me first. Or if they announce an orange iPhone 16 in the spring. :p

You can always get a opaque case that covers the back and sides so it doesn't slip.
I ordered the clear Apple Magsafe case.

Only on the regular 16 not the 16 Pro and Pro Max

Definitely on the fence but leaning toward no upgrade, I have a 15 Pro. Like some have mentioned, this is as good a year to consider not upgrading, especially coming from a 15, and maybe the 14. Apple is pushing mainly for its AI but that will be available for the iPhone 15 series too, all the other upgrades are gimmicky, I would appreciate the larger screen but that’s about it.

I haven’t completely decided, but I’m leaning toward upgrading to a black 16 with 256 storage. Coming from a Product red XR with 128.

This seems like one of those excuses you tell yourself to drive home the decision not to upgrade. One of the most mundane excuses I've ever did read lol - Just curious what you're planning to do with your hobbled USB C port that your doing with your current 7+ that also has the same 480Mbps? Not once in my iPhone days from the iPhone 3G to current did I ever have a concern about how fast my main port is. Never. For a pro videographer/photographer, sure. Everyday use, no way.

My wife has a 6S and I have an SE2 (2020]. I am ready to pass the SE to her but am on the fence separating the 15 and 16. Either will be more than adequate for my needs and is a good size for me but I am teetering towards the 16 because it is only $120CAD more expensive, offers a little more future proofing, it might be interesting to see where Apple takes its AI and because I see it as a good match with my iPad Air M2. Also I am in my late 70s and this could well be my last ever phone so why not treat myself 😊?

I have an XS. On the fence, leaning no to upgrade. Being that it supports iOS 18 and I still have about 10 GB storage left on 64 GB. I use proper cameras for more serious photography that have larger image sensors. I'll need to replace the phone battery soon, but otherwise it's working fine. I feel like I would be upgrading for the sake of upgrading. I have a Mac Studio and MacBook Pro for the Apple Intelligence stuff.

I don't think I am going to upgrade my iPhone this year. I've updated annually since the 11 Pro. However, this year I think I'll be keeping my 15 Pro since it gets Apple Intelligence, and the majority of the updates are to the camera. I am not a photographer, and the 15 Pro is more camera than I use anyway.

I may upgrade my Series 8 watch to the new Series 10 46mm and will probably update my M1 Pro MacBook if/when the M4 series comes out. Oh, and if we were to get an updated iPad mini, that would be on the table too :)

I’m not on the fence, not upgrading. It’s a good phone but my 15 pro max is great. I’m hoping next year they have promotion on the base model so I can go with the base model in fun colours. Cameras are cool but I don’t care that much about them.

Do people go naked or clear case all the time? I've never cared much about colors since it's in a case.

Clear case for me from ESR. don’t care for the colored ones and I’ve always gone clear.

Most definitely on the fence - I have an 11 Pro Max I bought 3 years ago, and looking at the 16 Pro Max, there are plenty of reasons to spring for the upgrade. I’m in it mostly for the camera, processor, and battery improvement if I decide to upgrade. The AI features are nice, but they’re not something that compelled me to think about moving up.

On the fence. If the 16 Pro had a SIM card tray like iPhones in every other country do I would have no second thought about upgrading. But I’ve determined that it’ll cost at least $200 plus a bunch of hassle to get one from another country, with the singular benefit (to me) being the device having an actual physical SIM card tray, which my current iPhone 15 Pro does not. So, I’m 50/50 at this point, and the inertia is for me to not go through the hassle. This really sucks, as both an Apple user and AAPL shareholder.

Im on the fence but not sure yet what to do. I am running a 15 Plus currently which battery life is really amazing. But I'm annoyed by the size... I have smallish hands and really would love to have a smaller phone like the 16 Pro again. But I still want something with good battery life and I'm not sure if the A18 is really that efficient that batterylife is dramatically better suddenly. But I also miss the better cameras and especially the auto focus.

15 PM here. Really on the fence. I have Apple Intelligence, and don't care about camera. The only thing is that my battery is 89% rn, so it's a matter of should I want until it drops to 80% (which probably will take a long time, perhaps after 17 is out), or just replace it with 16 PM.
Same 15PM here and mine is at 97%. I set a 80% charge limit during weekdays and let it charge to 100% during weekends or any days that I don’t have charging support. It seems that this experience worked for me.

So upgrading to a 16PM is a definite no for me. I really can’t see any value. It’s not the money problem at all.

P.s. I have upgraded to each and every flagship iPhone since 3GS in 2009.

Originally I wasn't even close to the fence...

I got a 15 pro next year, and planned to keep that for at least another year or two.

But, then, a combination of never really liking the 15 pro, and all those minor, incremental upgrades in the 16 pro has gotten me closer to the fence.

I'm not on it, yet, but definitively leaning against it now, an might jump over - more or less on a whim - tomorrow when they open the orders.

If I'm lured into getting a new one ahead of schedule, I'm not sure I'll bother with a trade-in for the 15 pro. Might just keep it as a backup-phone (unless my partner - who has a 14 pro - wants it, if so we'll keep that 14 pro as a backup-phone).
