I think this is the third such thread yesterday/today so far.Didn't see one of these threads around
i didnt order apple replaced my 2.0 c2d macbook black book this morning with a new 2.16
how did u manage that? im interested because i'd like to do that too!
well you just cant do it, ive gone through 4 macbooks in the past year and then got a black one for birthday and it started to mess up so i called and told them my problems and they said they would replace they would have to call me back they waited 2 days and the new ones came out yesterday and asked if id like that as a replacement, i asked if i could have a extra magsafe and she said sure too.
I am, I got the old credit card ready and everything....
One problem, I cant decide between black or white *starts hearing micheal Jackson tune*. I would go white but im paranoid about the dirt showing up after awhile.... hmm.
But yes, by midnight i will by the proud owner of reciept for a macbook.
If you guys have colour suggestions , your advice would be appreciated.
The white 'books don't show fingerprints or grease, but they do get really fine scratches VERY easy. Toss up, I suppose. I guess on one hand, fingerprints and smudges can be cleaned (but it will only be 10 minutes before they show up again), but the white's scratches are permanent (but you can only really see them if you look for 'em).Hope I'm not too late, but get a blackbook man... they're cool, or if you don't want a premium, just upgrade to the same specs if that matters. White ones are classic, but black ones are sleek. I don't know if finger prints are an issue with you, but my black show them well, I dunno about the white though.
A question for those who have ordered- how long are the estimated shipping times?
I ordered a 2GHz whitebook with 2GB RAM upgrade [BTO takes longer, even though it's one. damn. chip.]
Yeah, but I would guess that they have to take it off the shelf, open it up, fiddle around taking out the 2 x 512Mb sticks, put in the 2 x 1Gb sticks, test it and then (and only then) can they ship it.
Also, why BTO the 2Gb, get it after-market and save $$$
Alec
I ordered a 2GHz whitebook with 2GB RAM upgrade [BTO takes longer, even though it's one. damn. chip.] on Tuesday at 9am California time (11pm Shanghai time). It shipped from Shanghai on Thursday at 4pm Shanghai time (2am California time). FedEx is saying that I will get it by next Tuesday (free shipping), but FedEx has been known to beat their estimates.
So there: if you're in California, you'll get it within a week.
